Hi, I'm pretty much unexperienced at setting up a CS server, and all of the sites out there I can find deal with 1.5 server setup.

I'm wondering if anyone can post a link to a site that explains, in painstaking detail, how to set up a 1.6 server.

Of course, posting instructions yourself would also be appreciated.

Thanks

Jet

Uhh, run HLDS?

If you want non-dedicated, err....

Non-dedicated is kinda self-explanatory.

Well, it depends on whether you are setting the server up on your own computer (and you can sit down at it and mess around with it) OR whether you are renting a server from a company (meaning you have to use rcon/AdminMod/AMX)

I'm not really an expert, but i do know that...

If you are putting up a game on your own computer for a friend or 2 to connect, all you have to do is go into Counterstrike and press new game, and its self explanatory from there. IF youre using a large unix/linux based server, which can support 64 people depending on the server, its kind of hard and you have to understand linux, but basically you have to go into steam and go to games, then turn on CS from there.

I always like to help out noobs, as we all were once noobs, I remember when i first played counterstrike......when i was 12, lol.
