View Full Version : Problem with Voice communication in steam

yeah, in all my Steam mods, i use the voice communication with my headset, and it is all choppy, i did voice_loopback 1 and there was 1 second long cuts in my voice repedidly. this happens with everything on steam, i have also seen other people online with this problem, and it also just started to happen to my neighbour (he has a 1.5MB line) so i dont think its a connection problem, just a problem with steam. any helpers? this problem just started last night for me

No idea? I have a dsp-500 (cs version naturally) and haven't experienced problems.

Of course I haven't been on in a week or 2.

Maybe I'll check it out tonight.-

you got a dsp 500? you rich kid, i have a crappier plantronics headset, its not the headset cuz i cn record stuff with it and its fine

I worked hard for my cs dsp-500 I worked hard for my airsoft gun. I worked hard for all my game systems. None of the "stuff" I get is because I'm rich, it's because I'm a dedicated person, to getting what I want.

Yes thats the problem..you're not updating enough..so the server is only recieving "packets" of information.

Try at LEAST cl_updaterate 70 and cmd_rate 70...to be sure to go 101 for each.

I also have a dsp-500 cs version :D wasn't easy getting it though..I had to work very hard..
