my friend and i create a dedicated server with admin mod. everytime we create the server the numbers at the end of the ip ( ie. :27015) change. And the numbers are very random. why is this?

im just wondering if anyone has figured out what the problem is here.. i have a dedicated server running behind two routers.. it doesnt matter if i have them directly connected to the cable modem or just hooked into one router, i get a random port number on every restart of the server in the server list for cs.. i understand and have experiance "forwarding ports", so i have forwarded the given port from router 1 to router 2'a external ip, then router two routes that port to the server comp.. so far its only my cs server that gets a random port.. am i supposed to open another port somewhere so the master server can talk with mine or what? im sure others have had this problem, im rather stuck so any help would be much oblidged..

There's a launch command to force a certain port. But I can't remember.
The thing is, the number you get isn't as random as you think.
The following ports must be open in your firewall and router for Steam and Steam Games to work:

UDP 1200 (used for friends service)
UDP 27000 to 27015 inclusive
TCP 27020 to 27039 inclusive
TCP 27040 and 27041 only for CyberCafe Owners

Computers running Dedicated Servers need these ports open:

UDP: 27015 and 27020 (default HLDS, SRCDS and HLTV port)
TCP: 27015 (SRCDS Rcon port)

If your server uses a different hostport then you will need to adjust the above accordingly.

If all these ports are forwarded, then your server should work fine.
