Let's talk about how China claims they will invade Taiwan if they go independent.

I personally don't think China has the balls to do it. Though the US won't have the balls to invade China if they do anyway, and Taiwan won't claim independence.

In China the reclaiming of Taiwan is a national obsession, it's bred into the nations psyche through years of propaganda. But of course Taiwan is a major capitalist power in the region and has millions invested, via private businesses, in China and as China is on a boom, a war would stop its currently unstoppable economy. I'm sure both countries will do something so they can both 'save face' as it is a matter of principle for both rather than fuck up their countries glowing economies.

For America it would not be in its best interests to go against China, as they do own a vast chunk of America's deficit (and therefore America).

In the end it's all about either 'money' or 'principles' for Taiwan and China.
