Valve has officially let the cat out of the bag when it comes to information surrounding Left 4 Dead 2.


Left 4 Dead 2 is set at roughly the same time as the original – just after the outbreak that turned most of the population into various zombie mutants. Players assume the role of 4 new “Survivors,” each with their own personality and new dialog. The game leads these “Survivors” through the southeastern region of the US - from Savannah, Georgia thru the bayou country, and climaxing in New Orleans’ French Quarter.

• AI Director 2.0: Advanced technology dubbed “The AI Director” drove L4D’s unique gameplay – customizing enemy population, effects, and music, based upon the players’ performance. L4D 2 features “The AI Director 2.0” which expands the Director’s ability to customize level layout, world objects, weather, and lighting to reflect different times of day.
• New melee weapons – axe, chainsaw, frying pan, baseball bat – allow you to get up close with the zombies
• Four different survivors. New Story. New dialogue.
• More game. On day one, L4D 2 features more co-operative campaigns, more campaigns and maps for the Versus game modes than L4D 1, plus support for Survival mode out of the box.
• Stats, rankings, and awards system drives collaborative play

Seems to "bright" and "happy" to me, don't have the current L4D feel to it, I hope they make it more dark in the next six months.

ummm ya, seems a bit rushed for a sequal.... why not just create an expansion, because that is basiclly what this is, I will not pay another $50 for this.

You sound like a fan complaining about Diablo III's look. Haha. Remember, this is just one campaign so who knows what the other four will be like.

Correct, and there is also six more months till it's done, so lots of time to change stuff, if they want, I won't make my final mind up until demo / full release. :)

one thing i hope they fix is the new boss infected's gimp hand...... or better yet redesign the whole damn thing because all he is, is a tank wannabe, look alike , poser.... they need to come up with something original for the new boss.

Yeah this is bullshit. No wonder we're not getting any of the update / new unlockables and kit TF2 is getting... We aren't going to get ANY post release support on the game we already bought... just the opportunity to pay again...

I am soo going to download a pirated version if L4D2 comes out before 2011

I didn't mind too much that valve got used to releasing beta games as finished products and saying they'll release more stuff later... but now we just get a few bug fixes, a survivor mode THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE RELEASE and a coupon to PAY AGAIN SOON!
