As of this writing, the global kill count for Battlefield 1943 (http://www.battlefield1943.com/) on the Xbox 360 is sitting just shy of 31.5 million. PlayStation 3 owners are at about 17.2 million kills. Keep in mind that the fourth map, Coral Sea, will be unlocked once 43 million kills are accumulated. This goal is only for each respective console, not a combined kill count.
For as impressive as those kill counts are, they may not be the most staggering statistic revealed.
DICE's Gordon VanDyke revealed that on the first day of playing, Xbox 360 owners "logged 29.45 years of gameplay." In addition, the launch day saw over 5 million kills. Significant improvements have also been made to the server situation, and most of the issues gamers had with connecting to the game should be resolved.
