I've been through the manual but can't find anything, probably because I don't know what I'm looking for.

I want to host a BF2 server on my computer, I'm familiar with the BF2Server Launcher, it's just I haven't got it to work yet, only a LAN server.

Here is my router control panel:

Do you see anything there that looks like it is used to "open a port"? If so I will post another screen to show you.

You sound like a nice kinda guy so no need to flame but....

If you do a google search for

"Thompson Speedtouch 510" open port

You get this :

www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Thomson-Alcatel/SpeedTouch510v4.0/Gnutella.htm

It's in the NATP section from what I can see.

Hope it works out :)

I was going to suggest IP Routing or NAPT, but one should take you to the port section...

Not familiar with this router at all, but other models (Netgear, etc..) actually have presets for popular games... Just make sure you read up and open all of the ports for the game -- we all know 16567 is the game port, but there usually is a query port, and maybe 1-2 others needed for play...

Wow thanks guys! It works now!

EDIT: Well, it DID just work, it was on the internet and my friends could see it, then I went into it and it kicked me 2 minutes later for a punkbuster error.
I then went to the PB site and updated the files correctly, and while i was doing that I made community and sponsor logos for my server and hosted them on my web server then put the URL in the correct box in bf2 server launcher.
I launched the server and it now it doesnt work..., however it does show up in LAN, just not the internet list.

Can your friends connect to it via your IP address i.e. using the 'connect to IP' button ?

You probably have all the ports open if you connected the first time though the full list is on the back page of the manual I think.

Try turning PB off and see what happens....

I have a speedtouch 530. Goto NAPT then at the top right click default server now you need to put in the inside ip address. I'm not sure which port you are connected to in the back of the modem but try these addresses, these are for port 1-4, 10.0.0.1 or 10.0.0.2 or 10.0.0.3 or 10.0.0.4 that effectively opens every port and will allow you to host a BF2 server. Make sure you only put one of those IP addresses in. Then after click apply then save all. Now be areful because this opens every port so just wipe the ip and click apply/save all to revert it back to routing and shutting all those ports again.

Enjoy!
