Good Morning All.

My first post here, and prolly a bit newbish, so many apologies before I ask.

I would like to create a dedicated LAN server, but dont really know where to start with a server config file.

I have a dedicated server up and running but as far as I can see it's just running default maps for Internet play.

Can one of you wise ppl please point me in the right direction, (and hopefully not to the door to leave).

Thanx for ya time.

If you already have the server up and running what exactly do you need from people here?

Hi, and thanx for the quick response. Advice is the answer to your question.

My problem is that I do not have it running in way I need it running.

My question, is what changes are needed to be made to the servers config so that it is a LAN server as opposed to a Dedicated Internet server.

In the past most servers I have run require a change to the config i.e. server = 0/1 in the config to denote internet/lan.

I am using the "dedicated server" provided by EA, and having installed it, and gone thro the "gui" server setup saw no option to select LAN/Internet, so assume that it may be neccessary to edit the server config file.

When I say the dedicated server is "up and running", it is currently dedicated for internet play. What I want is one dedicated for LAN play.

I hope that makes it more clear.

go get the win32 v1.02 dedicated files from EA.

Much better then the client based listen server crap.

sv.internet 0 <----make sure your serversettings.con has this line.

Ahh, I see now :)

Here's a page with some hints as to what the other settings in serversettings.con actually do...

Yup Solved. Thank you.

sv.internet 0 gives me a Lan Server.

Now all I need to do is be able to create a logfile which which can be parsed to produce local stats for a lan party. Any ideas or pointers greatfully accepted.

I think if you start a new thread in server support you may get more replies, also try explaining the problem in more detail! ;)
