Conquest Mode Patch Released

Manzi | Comments: 4

Dice and EA has released the new patch today for Battlefield: Bad Company on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. The patch adds the long awaited conquest gametype. Check it out:
A brand new multiplayer mode is here, and it's free!

Content includes the traditional Battlefield multiplayer game mode, Conquest. Conquest focuses on the capture and control of flags; once a team captures a control point, its members can re-spawn in the area. When a team loses control of all their flags or control points, they cannot re-spawn.

Maintaining control over the flags on the battlefield is a key to victory and the ability to re-spawn troops close to the battlefront can make all the difference for that last offensive push. Four existing maps have been redesigned along with all new lighting and weather effects, to give players a great battlefield on which to play Conquest. Upon entering one of these maps, the U.S. ARMY will face off against either the Russian or Middle Eastern Coalition forces and the battle for control of the territory will begin.

Don't have a copy of BF:Bad Company yet? Better go out and get one now!
The download is only 97MB! See you on the Battlefield.

Forgotten Hope 2 Mod Update - Heulende Kuh

[MyIS]Spawndemon | Comments: 1

The Forgotten Hope 2 mod team is back today with their latest update, this time showing off some new vehicles. Take a look:
The first thing we would like to show today is the new Normandy skin for the German recon plane, the Fieseler Storch. This plane was modeled by [79th]Le_Chat and skinned by Toddel.

By June 1944 the Luftwaffe on the western front had been largely annihilated. The constant bombing of airfields and complete allied air superiority meant that there wasn't much that could be done to counter the allied advancements. Although these conditions obviously put restrictions on the use of planes in general, the Storch it was still used in Normandy. Its main special quality was its very short take-off and landing distance. The Storch could land in only 30 metres and take off in 80.

The second item for today is the new version of the German APC - the Sd.Kfz 251/1 Ausf. D. (You've already seen the Ausf. C in Forgotten Hope 2's desert maps.) These half-tracks were made in as many as 23 specialised variants and one of those is our third news item - the Sd.Kfz 251/1-II "Stuka zu Fuss". Both those models were made by K96 and Toddel.

Allied Intent Xtended Mod Update

[MyIS]Spawndemon | Comments: 2

The Allied Intent Xtended mod team has released a new update today letting us know of their progress. Take a look:
Hi everyone, it has been some time since the last news update and we only thought it fitting to fill you in on what's happening in the AIX camp. As most of you know by now, Dice has surprised us with a new patch announcement and we are expecting a public beta to hit the internet soon. Since there has been a lot of speculation and rumors about what the new 1.5 patch will bring, we only thought it prudent to wait and see what these changes were so that our 2.0 release could come out strong and compatible. Sorry for this delay but we feel we can bring you a better release once we know how the new patch will affect our build.

On a happier note, this gives us more time to work on the mod and perhaps even add some new things that we hadn't originally planned to. In the mean time you can always check out our forums for new maps and all the discussion on the upcoming 2.0 release. Speaking of maps, if you have the Special Forces Expansion pack I recommend you download an excellent conversion of the map "Surge" released by scopeone today especially for AIX!

A new blog update has been posted today over on the Battlefield Heroes website letting us know that well, we broke their site! Take a look:
Turns out there were so many people waiting to win a Beta key that the server basically...up and croaked.

Talk about things going horribly right.

We'll be doing some maintenance over the next day or two; we want to make sure that the site can handle all you Battlfield Heroes enthusiasts.

Apologies for the delay, but don't worry, we'll be back!
Keep checking back on the BFH website for more.
Bad Company Conquest Mode Coming August 7

Zips | Comments: 5

In a brand new press release, direct from EA, comes word that the Conquest mode for Battlefield: Bad Company will arrive, free of charge, this August 7th.
On August 7th, Battlefield: Bad Company players worldwide will get to experience the intense rush as they tackle online play in a whole new way with Conquest mode that will be released as a free download for the PLAYSTATION3 and Xbox 360.

Made famous by Battlefield 1942, Conquest mode pits players against each other in a fast paced battle to eliminate the opposing team’s tickets. Players deplete their opponent’s tickets by one point per kill and can cause their opponent’s tickets to spiral downwards by capturing control points. Four maps that are currently available for online play in Gold Rush mode will be available to conquer with Conquest mode.

Rejoice Bad Company fans, Conquest is just around the corner!
