Community Update - Watchtower Model set and New Eden teaser Trailer
This month we look back at our community sections, this includes a new Watchtower model set and a teaser trailer from the project titled "New Eden". The watchtower has been carefully developed by Talvipakkanen and consists of a multiplatform, dual ladder tower complete with machine gun, spot light and machine gun bunker. The New Eden mod teaser trailer created by community member Darkwish utilises the Mirror's Edge Flowgraph. You just can't help but be looking forward to this mod coming out so we can all get a go!

Welcome to today's news update, featuring the release of two new assets and as well as a look at a completed "Watchtower" asset that is currently awaiting activation in the Crymod download database. Crymod community member and talented modeller Talvipakkanen has recently created and released two new assets of a spotlight and a machine-gun bunker, as well as having created a new watchtower for use in Crysis, all of which we'd like to feature here for you in today's news update.

Watchtower Screenshots

The below screenshots show the watchtower that Talvipakkanen has recently completed developing, which has now been uploaded to the Crymod download database and is awaiting activation. Something interesting to note is that the watchtower is modular, and can be constructed/adjusted to the liking of the downloader. The asset was created in Blender.

Spotlight & MG Bunker
The next two assets are of a spotlight and a machine-gun bunker, both of which have been released to the Crymod community. The spotlight current lacks smoothing, which will be added in the next release as well as material adjustments. Both the spotlight and machine-gun bunker are available in the Crymod download database, here and here, respectively.

That's it for today's news update. If you wish to view any further media that has been released, ask the creator a question, or simply leave your comments/feedback regarding these assets for the creator, then be sure to do so in the official forum thread for the assets, which is located here.

The developers of the Traction Wars mod have posted some screenshots of models for the mod:
Lee-Enfield .303
The Lee-Enfield was a bolt-action, magazine-fed, repeating rifle that was the main firearm used by the British Commonwealth during the first half of the 20th century. It was the British Army's standard rifle from its official adoption in 1895 until 1957. The Lee-Enfield used the .303 British cartridge and was a redesign of the Lee-Metford, which had been adopted by the British Army in 1888. As a standard-issue infantry rifle, it is still found in service in the armed forces of some Commonwealth nations. The Lee-Enfield featured a ten-round box magazine which was loaded manually from the top, either one round at a time or by means of five-round chargers. By the late 1930s the need for new rifles grew, and the Rifle, No. 4 Mk I was first issued in 1939 but not officially adopted until 1941. The No. 4 action was similar to the Mk VI, but lighter, stronger, and most importantly, easier to mass produce. The No. 4 rifle was considerably heavier than the No. 1 Mk. III, largely due to its heavier barrel, and a new bayonet was designed to go with the rifle: a spike bayonet, which was essentially a steel rod with a sharp point, and was nicknamed "pigsticker" by soldiers. The Lee Enfield No. 4 was occasionally fitted with a rifle grenade attachment as well. The models and textures shown below have been crafted by [TWDEV] Sir Apple.
Rifle Grenade Launcher
Walther P38
The Walther P38 was developed as the Wehrmacht service pistol at the beginning of World War II. It was designed to replace the Lugar P08 which was expensive to manufacture, the finish of the P38 was made to a high standard to the end of 1941 when the pace of the war required an increased production. The standard of the external finish was thereafter reduced. The work-in-progress model below is being modelled by [TWDEV] Sir Apple.
The team is looking for new developers to join, so if you think you have a skill we could use, please fill out a recruitment form here, we are especially looking for Modellers, Texture Artists, Animators & Mappers but we are recruiting in all areas.

Cargo gives us more on the Special Forces character for Crysis:
Below is a selection of three screenshots/renders, two in different angles with the character assuming the default raised arms pose, and with the last showing the character in a posed position. This character is the second-last military character that Cargo needed to create, where he will move onto the creation of the first-person arms after the creation of the last military character model. The model currently stands at 5,000 tris.

Devoid Studios give us some info on the total conversion mod Fallout:Rebirth:
Firstly for today's update, we have some general information on the total conversion modification. Although this may seem a monumental task for a professional team, let alone a group of modders, we hope to go all the way through with the creation of this mod. The modification information is contained within the below quote.
"Fallout: Rebirth takes place during the events of Fallout 1. Players will get a chance to explore the wastes, fight super mutants, abuse ghouls, get high, use an obscene amount of Stimpacks, sleep around, skin raiders, glow in the dark, eat iguanas, and generally wreck all kinds of havoc.

The first two Fallout games are probably the most influential and arguably the best Role Playing Games of our generation. All spin-offs that followed as well as the third instalment of the series (we really don't want to mention the name) where nothing more than radioactive waste in comparison to the original games.

When we decided to create a remake of the first Fallout game one of the primary goals that we set for ourselves was to recapture the feel of the game and stay as close to the original game play as humanly (insert mutantly if appropriate) as possible.

We are planning to bring in all of the original content of the game including quests, items, locations, models and everything else that made the game great. SPECIAL character creation system will stay as well as all off the attributes, skills and perks. The turn based combat system will also be implemented.

Although we have tons of ideas for the main quest line we will stick with the original and introduce some of them in side quests.
"
Talking Head - Aradesh
We are currently working hard on our proof of concept/demo level, which will largely take place in Shady Sands. As was expected within the team, Aradesh was nominated to become the first Talking Head. Our resident team member and 3D modeller Ain Mosni has been kind enough to provide us with a render of the work in progress model, which is shown below to the right of the image of the original Aradesh.
