Clarification : this is not a boring dull long-timer or ranked-server recoded gameplay!!! ;)
It is not epic story, stunt videož
No modded content used.

INFO
This is probably on of the most dynamic and fun to watch bf2 videos ever! It is of clanbase.com opencup 12*12 2006 spring finals first round, where RATS played with the mix of best polish teams, KWA. All these teams are also considered to be the best of the best in europe. At least by us. Video is by rats team, so we kill them a bit more, however in the real game it wasn't so true.

SCREENSHOTS
5 screenshots should be attached ;) I suggest 2 start with no1. These are of actual movie quality of h.264 codec.

DOWNLOAD

Low quality divx version 400*300 200MB
(crystal-clear quality @400*300 resolution, will play for everyone)
http://files.filefront.com/KWATOMBOMBdivxhalfresavi/;5319147;;/fileinfo.html

high quality h.264 version 800*600 also the same 200MB
(crystal-clear quality @ 800-600, will play on high-end pcs with small hassle)
http://files.filefront.com/KWATOMBOMBh264avi/;5318243;;/fileinfo.html
READ THE DESCRIPTION OF FILEFRONT IF YOU DOWNLOAD THIS ONE.

You can download good and low quality versions that are both of the same filesize of 200mb, but High Quality version requires a very very very good computer to play and HD h.264 codec\decoder\player\videocard! If you dare to download HD h.264 version be sure to read the file description on filefront! It offers crystal-clear 800*600 video, instead of 400*300 divx, but it may be a small hassle to view it. To read description just click on "+ more details about this file" button in short description.

NOTE TO ANYONE HOSTING THIS FILE
If you want to redistribute these files (we don't mind) somewhere beyond filefront, be sure to include file descriptions as on filefront as readme.txt or any text format, especially for h.264 HD version, since it contains links to opensource codecs/players required to play HD!!!

I hope you like it and feel the real fun of us playing that final's match!

And I emphasize! READ THE FULL FILE DESCRIPTIONS ON FILEFRONT!
To read description just click on "+ more details about this file" button in short description.

For people that are too lame to read the file description from filefront.. HOWTO PLAY h.264 VERSION

This video is encoded using h.264 codec which is highly superior to other codecs, such as divx and aimed at HD superior quality! But you need a fast computer and h264 decoder to play this format.
By fast computer I mean a CPU of ~ 3000mhz p-rating, like athlon 3000+, or maybe slower, if you have the latest generation GPUs like ati x1000 series or nvidia 7000 series and use their h264 acceleration!

To play h.264 you need to have EITHER (MEANS ONLY ONE OF THESE) A OR B OR C:

A.Hardware support of ati x1000 series or nvidia 7000 series
B.A h.264 decoder (codec)
C.A player that has built-in support for h.264 playback.

Details:

A. winxp sp2 winupdated to latest version and video card of ati x1000* series OR nvidia 7000 series GPU (or greater), then you open this video file with WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER 10 (not any other player)!

*In case of ati x1000 series, besides catalyst driver you need to install AVIVO. This is an addition to catalyst driver available from driver download page @ http://www.ati.com It is updated with each driver version. You need to press the link to driver download and there will be driver and avivo of the most recent versions listed. Also, as some of you may mistakenly know, you DO NOT need the ati h.264 decoder from cyberlink! ;)

B.A h.264 codec.
ffdshow! I recommend the latest build off here http://x264.nl , since it is optimised for x264 encoder (NOT A DECODER, DOWNLOAD FFDSHOW, NOT X264) output playback!
But you may also use another version of ffdshow off here http://www.free-codecs.com/download/FFDShow.htm
You also MUST enable x264h264 playback in ffdshow, so don't automatically press next on all setup pages while installing. If you missed it, just start>-all programs->ffdshow->Video decoder configuration->codecs->in list click next to h.264 and select libavcodec. Also you may want to tick skip deblocking checkboxes, if you have a slow computer to help you play at expense of quality.

Also note, that if you dare to browse for h.264 codec around the web yourself, then x264 is not a decoder. It's an encoder-only. It made some people mad trying to play h264 videos with x264. ;)

C.A player that has built-in support for h.264 playback.
Try videolan http://www.videolan.org

Note, that solutions B&C are very processor-hungry, I advice a CPU of ~ 3000mhz p-rating, like athlon 3000+, otherwise you may see chopiness in playback AND\OR audio sync issues.

The reason I used ffdshow is that due to BF2 limitations it is impossible to make output files larger than 4GB , and that limitation cuts off possibilites for making any HD videos. That's not file system limitation, as I have ntfs and can have files larger than 4GB reside on my computer freely. Bf2 just loops frames to the beginning of the file after 4GB.

I captured all frames to .bmp files using ffdshow while bf2 output avi file got zero output data. These bmp's took about 35 or 40 GB in compressed folder for 20mins of 800*600... Then I used avisynth script and virtuadub and HD codec so I got 10-12GB avi which I could use in video editor.

I also had to timestretch audio tracks a bit since audio recording was not precise for some reason ;( So i used fraps and bf2 in minimal resolution (set to 512*384 in bflauncher and 1\2 in fraps) and lowest bf2\driver quality to record sound, still it needed some stretching, but that video preview from fraps helped me stretch alot.

So I used fraps for audio capture and ffdshow for video.

If you need detailed instruction, a I can update that video making FAQ here.

see, ive done things to like 69GB, but when you play it in its so slow and i only have 1.5GB of RAM, and its a lot of work, im used to fraps. but compressing is hard for me, for some reason, Ive seen videos that are like 4 minutes long and is like 30MB with a nice quality, ive asked them and they said they used VirtualDub, which i dont understand, i took a 3 minute video of mine, compressed it with VD, and i got 130MB, i just dong get how people compress into a smaller file with a good quality

Use the calculator to find out what bitrate you need to get the size you want.

Excellent video. I loved the part with the Helis, lol. Too bad it VLC crashed for me towards the end, but I saw most of it.

So you used the h.264 codec? And what program?

Thanks for feedback. I see you like it alot, still that's my first video (well, second since bf1942\desert combat, which was unreleased to public), so you can expect some crazy movie which is alot better than that... soon... got friend whos alot better at cameras than me. And got some crazy ideas too. And some good e-sports demos are incoming right about...today. :p

Also, I'm gonna write an addition to current video making faq on this forum on how-to make hd video... tommorow or the day after, as I want to make it as simple as possible to read and understand, still very thourough. :p

Excellent video. I loved the part with the Helis, lol. Too bad it VLC crashed for me towards the end, but I saw most of it.

Umm... I've tested with vlc 0.8.4a, no problems... Otherwise your computer's CPU prolly ran out of juice....

Will download but 800x600 is NOT HD.

Also if you're going to use h.264, just use Quicktime, a 200mb file that requires that much effort to play will deter alot of people.

Excellent video, great quality. Good showpiece for what a game of BF2 can be like. Recommeneding it to a few people.
