WOW have any of you ever tried this?

This may seem obvious but it took me until just now to think of it.

I used to think that airborne soldiers where only good for there satchel charges and ability to reinforce anywhere.
I never really saw them as the guys that cause chaos behind enemy lines..why...because you can only drop them where you can SEE.

so i though...what if I call in a recon sweep in an area behind enemy lines and drop the airborne in the revealed terrioty, so i tried it on skirmish mode and it worked.
Then i thought about dropping them in an rea behind enemy lines BUT in a place where the enemy doesnt have any troops, i can slowly build up a few more airborne squds there and then BAM hell be like wtf where did those guys come from.

LAWL im gonna go try that right now online.

this sound like a great way to break a stalemate that happens on maps like vire and lyon

Old tactic. Will take waay to much time to gain that amount of manpower.

Yeah the tactic of createding the huge force behind enem ylines will tak a awhile but if you take it slowly and dont act like this is your only strategy you can do a fair bit of damage.

i just tried it out online and I managed to do quite a bit of damage and sew some serious chaos, on vire i took out an mg nest across the river by dropping para troopers in to nade it first, this way my main force9who was already slowed by the river) would be able to cross.

also on lyon what I did was drop one para squad and an AT gun, then a supply drop i man the mortar and THEN reiforced my airborne squad before i manned the machine gun(this way id still have my airborned squad) and i then reiforced the airborne squad the rest of the way and and began to move out and sew havoc.

Its a tactic used since the game's release. With the Brits tho you make a whole FOB(Forward Operating base) with gliders! regular Glider inf, Glider tetrach and Glider HQ with MG squad, mortar and piats squads.

that sounds leet, im gonan be playing airborne alot more, one thing I just did on vire was when I wanted to attack across the river I did behind enemy liens airborne thing and took out an 88, its pretty sweet the chaos you can sew, if you drop AT gun and supply drop so that you get airborne,mg team,mortar an at gun(reinforce airborne before between manning mg and mortar or youll lose airborne) you can do some REAL damage, i love throwing stahcel charges at groups of infantry and armor.

its the perfect way to take down a peice of equipemt that is critical to the enemie's defense before you atatck(88,mg team,mgemplacment, those darn german rocket batteries and ESPECIALLY enemy artillery.

Not sure but I have even put in the proper ports in my router and even have connected straight to computer and still wont connect to online.

What about your windows firewall?

I have even disabled windows firewall I believe. But the funny thing is, is I had a friend that came over that had COH:OF installed on his laptop and he was able to connect even though he was wireless on my home network which like I said above that I cant even connect. Ill try again and disable all my firewalls and bypass the router all together.
