My first was CoD1. I saw it in a finnish game review show and thought it sounded cool so i bought it. I also have UO and CoD2 but i think the CoD1+UO were the best ones. I have a bit mixed feelings about CoD moving to modern time. CoD has always been a WW2 game but i think it has been done enough times and change is always welcome. I might buy this but we'll see.

I wasnt that big a fan of the cod series, not because I didnt like the game just more because I found another game i preferred that little bit more (that game being Hidden And Dangerous 2). But that didnt stop me from getting any of the series :P - I started off on CoD1, was just a game on the shelf that I thought I would like really, so I got it and it was fun, a few friends ended up buying the game also so it lasted a while, went on to buy United Offensive and then onto CoD2, I was disappointed with CoD2 though and Activisitions decision on not to incorporate PB in the multiplayers option, only when they realised how much the community demanded it they decided to implement it :). I think the move from the old WW kinda theme wasnt so much needed but should bring the CoD series back to being amongst the best. I think that the whole WW1/2 theme is slowly dying down now and the gaming community is more into the modern conflict kinda theme, so I guess Activision is making a tactical decision, and hopefully they will do a good job of it :).

I've been playing the series literally since the day CoD1 came out. Not as hardcore as most. Competed a bit. Had many a server running.

If I had to pick, CoDUO is by far the shinning gem out of the current 3. Grey Matter Studios went the extra mile with multiplayer and it disappointed me that IW didn't follow suit. All the took from it was the semi-auto rifles and the CTF gametype. CoD1 & CoD2 are too cookie cutter MP wise. IW doesn't take enough risk with MP (headquarters the exeption that proves the rule). They just copied the tried and tested gametypes from counterstrike and other older games. GMS showed some imagination with new gametypes, larger maps and vehicles.

I imagine CoD4 will be no different. Don't get me wrong. I'm getting it and will play the hell out of it. It looks to be closer to Soldier of Fortune 3 (sof2 being one of the alltime greats IMO) than any game, but I don't expect anything innovative from IW. Iron sighting has carried them far.

Also, if they didn't learn from their mistake and don't have punkbuster on release.......

My first was cod1 i got it wit my 5500 nvidia graphics card and this game introduced me to FPS i was like 12 at the time or 13 maybe and i loved it especially multiplayer. CoD:UO was even better with the use of vehicles. CoD2 i did not like as much as the first one because it didnt feel like the first one and multiplayer wasnt as good. I remember played CoD1 for 5 hours a day almost thats how addicted i got to it.

My first Call of Duty game was the original CoD 1. It was also the very first online multiplayer first-person shooter game I played. After that I got Call of Duty: Finest Hour for the Ps2 and then after that Call of Duty 2.

My first cod game was cod1 and i loved it. Didnt play in clans, just pubbed loads with mates. Got some great memories there. I bought because my friends played it basically :) the only other fps i played at the time was bfv. I have every other pc cod game after that (uo, cod2). at the time, i had more fun playing cod1 than i did 2. Got lots more soul ;) Moving away from ww2 = a bad move. I love ww2 games and not realy into the whole modern combat thing. im open to new ideas though.
And of course i will buy this one :D

i started out on cod1, then progressed to UO. UO seemed to be the most fun but skillwise its not in compeition with cod1. Ive liked cod2 also played that alot but im not sure, i think i was more hooked on cod1.

i will almost definatly be purchasing cod4 and im glad its gone into modern warfare as i play bf2 alot but i think it lacks cod style playing.

What do you think about moving away from WW2? I think it's a good Idea because, You can't just keep using WW2 it would get old. And since all the CoD games were really nice FPSs I believe that CoD4 will be just as awesome.

It's good, opens windows for WWII mods. It'll attract more players, even though one of those communities I don't like, Battlefield 2. I'm not saying all BF2 players will buy it, it'll just attract some of them.

Depends how the gameplay is and what the requirements are. I'm not worrying about the graphics so much, they'll be good enough. I made the mistake of buying Call of Duty 2 with out really knowing what the gameplay was like, wasted $50.

Which was your first CoD game? - vanilla COD of course. Got it Within about 3 days of its release. Was hooked till UO took me over. But I skipped COD2 multiplayer due to repetativeness.

Why did you buy it? - Coming off MOHAA and Spearhead I wanted something new. COD was perfect timing and the perfect update.

What other CoD games do you have? - All of them, except for 3, which I dont even consider a COD game.

Which one is the best so far? - UO was the most complete

What do you think about moving away from WW2? - Pretty psyched. Ive never really gotten into anything but WWII shooters. Maybe MOH:A will keep that side of me occupied.
