Hi,
This problem has emerged fairly suddenly. When starting BF2 I acn log on to the account server fairly quickly.
When I update server list the lowest ping I am getting is 280. When I then pick and interrogate a server the ping drops off to 40 - 80. In game my ping is in the region of 40 - 80. My frame rate is dreadfull, making it pretty impossible to play.
As I say this is a new problem, I have played BF2 since it was released at medium settings and a good frame rate.
I got so annoyed I reverted to Battelfield Vietnam ( Never realised how good the BF2 graphics were until I played BFV again!) and the same thing has happened.
I have carried out 4 different internet bandwith checks and all are right on the money. I have carried out an over night memtest (no errors found) I have carried out an overnight HDD check (No errors found). I have performance checked my graphics card and the benchmark is where it should be. I have serached for viruses and spyware ( using 3 different programmes)and have found none.
I play BF2 with Norton and have done since the start, and have not had any problems. Do you think Norton could be the culprit? Am i right in thinking that you cannot turn norton off, it will continue to run in the background so an uninstall would be necissary?
Any help would be appreciated

Problem solved.
I uninstalled Norton and removed it all of it's keys from the register manually.
Frame rate back to normal, lag gone.
It is odd that this problem emerged so suddenly.
All fixed now and that is all that matters.
