CoD4 Demo?

If so do you guys think itll be multiplayer? Like the bf2 demo.

There will probably be a single-player demo, just like Call of Duty 2.

I played that map so many times, I can probably draw a map of it with all the buildings and enemy positions :o

I doubt very much that it will be similar to the bf2 demo, it will most likely be a single player demo. Can't rule anything out though, it would be pretty awesome if an online demo was released.

So be it. Seems time is flying by anyhow, before you know it - we'll be playing the real game and having full multiplayer servers. I hope CoD4 gets big, I mean, Battlefield2 big. I'm looking for a new game to hold me over a few years.

I wonder what Infinity Ward is going to make the game most towards; Internet Play or Single Player Campaign. The SP campaign sounds really good so far but I hope they put more of an effort to the Multiplayer and truly focus on that .. why? Multiplayer with the various objectives is what saves games. If you have a kick *** multiplayer, your game is going to be around for a long time.

With their amazing single player campaign their doing though Curly, I am guessing the demo will be a single player mission and will be released a week or two before actual release date just to give people that final itch where they will go out and pre-order it.

See, EA released Gulf of Oman Multiplayer Demo because they had no single player, and playing 15 bots & yourself doesn't count as a single player.

Yea, you do think more of a campaign

Through Fileplanet in BF2142, just because you were a subscriber didn't mean you were guarnteed (sp) a key. Many people subscribed and were not given a key...which is why I don't like betas through fileplanet

All you guys who think its gonna be Q3 obviously either didnt pay attention to the videos or dont know much about devloping. All the videos say "Pre-Alpha" now if you know what alpha is that is the bare minimum they can release for a game, and they arent even at the point yet, so look at how good it looks and imagine wat it will be like when it goes through alpha testing then public beta for about 2 months then another month to add finishing touches then probably another half month to ship to stores, i say at least before the holidays.

"The first level I saw is currently labeled 'Cargo'. While some of the names and details are subject to change before the final release, I can confidently say that you will probably get to play this level sometime in the near future. "

He clarified this statement, meaning just that the level would stay intact for the final release. He didn't mean to imply that it would be a demo level.

Demos will be coming for all platforms for COD4 (as posted by community rep "fourzerotwo"), but they haven't planned out the details yet of what they will be.

If I had to guess, I'd say SP though. MP demo's are great, but they seem a little more rare than they used to be. Fingers crossed for both, though.

Seeing how this game prides itself on Multiplayer but at the same time, is one of the few games with a kick *** Multiplayer & Singleplayer Campaign ... I think they will come out with SP more likely than MP. I would rather have MP Demo, but I think it will be SP.

Thats why they'll probably release it about 2 weeks before final release. That way, you would beat the SP demo a few times over, but those few times you still enjoy it, once you are starting to sense boredom of the demo, the game will be released. It's a cruel world :dead:

I really do hope there is a MP demo for it.

I LOVE BF2 but before the MP demo come out i had never played any of the Battlefield series.

If it wasnt for the MP demo i would have never have bought BF2 and i think iW need to think about this, releasing a MP demo is a way of gaining new customers to the CoD series.

Even without bringing out a demo there still going to get sales from the diehard CoD series gamers but for the people who perhaps dont know about CoD, whats it like, the game play etc and an easy way of gaining alot more fans.

I believe without the MP demo for BF2, it would not be so popular.

Well IW did promise us PC-ers a consolation for not getting a beta, so I can only hope/assume that it'd be an early, early multiplayer demo. As Whisk said, no date yet but I can imagine once the insane-o time of the beta has passed (guessing early september) we'll see some news about this.

The short answer, IMO, "No."

360 games are hosted on someone's Xbox
PC games are hosted on a seperate internet server
360 games are limited to 12-16 players
PC will likely have the capacity for more
360 will handle Voice Chat through Xbox Live
PC client may have a built in Voip client, but most PC gamers will stick with their existing TS or Vent solutions.

The last point isn't all that game related, more of a cultural difference between console and PC players. If you read up on the guys who had a change to play the PC version, the very first thing they talk about it how much more responsive the controls were with a keyboard/mouse.

I'm sure there are some really good console players, but I have yet to see an analog stick that lets me react as quickly as my mouse.

And that's just thinking about what comes in the retail box. Mods are a whole other story.

The PC player's actions would be hindered by having to 'dumb down' their controls to compensate for the controllers. That would be a side effect of having cross-platform gaming.

Cross platform would suck imo. PC controls would be screwed up, consoles would get auto aim, and MS gets to put a monthly price tag on it.

The only reason is to see of my PC can run it, I can play all my games on high though, (COD2, BF2, BF2142, flight simulator, brothers in arms RTH30, ect...)

So I got 1gig of ram I got a nvidia geforce 7600GS and ...104 GB harddrive

I think it's just limit, I should be able to play, I don't care about high settibng, my question is can I run it? Even on all low settings? Without lag?

You should be able to fine with your video card.

The RAM does matter now. Many games coming out require 1gig. If you have the money to spare, you should buy an extra 512MB. Not only for this game, but upcoming games.

I agree. 2 GB works wonders for games, and RAM isn't too expensive these days, so it's worth it.

Going above 2 GB isn't really worth it, however, unless you run a 64-bit OS, or a server. You get a bit of benefit, but most of it is wasted. 2 GB is the sweet spot for 32-bit systems.
