There has been an interesting bit added to the Call of Duty 4 Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/COD4) that talks about some of the speech spoken in the trailer. Take a look:
The trailer, showing some in-game footage, was released April 28, 2007. In the background one may hear a speech given in Russian. The speech follows as "Today there is minus one nation in the world. The time has come to show what we really are. We fear no one." Additionally, a final voice speaks the Russian translation of a quote by Sun Tzu, author of The Art of War. "All war is based on deception."
This of course creates plenty of mystery around which nation they are speaking of that has been destroyed. Only time will tell!
