The guys over at the Battlefield 2 Files (http://battlefield2.filefront.com/) site have released an interview today asking questions to the Forgotten Hope 2 (http://forgottenhope.bf1942files.com/) mod. Here's a portion of the article:
What new game modes (if any will you be coming out with)?
It is a little early to describe special game-modes--we are currently concentrating on developing a base of weapons, vehicles, statics, maps, sounds and code, as we want to get a solid, playable release into the hands of the players as soon as we can. For this reason, it is not likely that our first release will have many unusual game modes. This does not mean thta none are in development, just that they are not a priority for our first release.
How WILL the unlock system work?
We are not interested in having point-based weapon unlocks, both because we don't want to disadvantage players for being new to the mod, and also because different armies do not all have multiple alternatives for every weapon type, especially without placing weapons on maps that happened before those weapons were ever used. We definitely want to avoid this kind of anachronism. Read more... (http://battlefield2.filefront.com/info/F_FH_Interview_August)
So be sure to check out the entire interview (http://battlefield2.filefront.com/info/F_FH_Interview_August) to get all the latest information on the Forgotten Hope 2 (http://forgottenhope.bf1942files.com/) mod.

Same here.
Oddly enough, though, my favorite answer was:
There will be some Bf2 style heavy support artillery and also some player-operated artillery, but it depends on the map. Not every local commander had access to artillery support in every battle. The commander view will be adjusted to reflect 1940s era technology.
That will be cool to see! If you think about it, there are so many different ways you can customize that view.

Glad you all liked the release. I found that a community based question's might work better, and let me inbox settle down off "When is FH released?!" e-mails.
As for what they answered, I have no control over it.

There probably wasn't much answered because the questions seemed to be coming from people who don't know much about FH2. Alot of those questions have already been answered on the offical FH forums.

I'm really not all that bothered with interviews these days. Nothing is ever answered.
Seriously, if a mod team agrees to an interview, they should at least be prepared to actually answer the questions. None of this top secret "we're pretending to be a professional company" crap =/

• Are you planning to make a Belgian army?
Certainly not for North Africa Whether we make one later is an open question. The number of maps that the Belgian Army would be useful for is comparatively limited because of the shortness of the campaign. The glider assault on Eben Emael would be a very cool subject for a map, though. My personal recomendation is for impatient fans of the Battle for Belgium think about making a minimod.
Mayby I translated wrong but are those guys going to make a minimod for the Belgian Armed Forces? Would be cool, I live there... I wanna help for the voice-commands ;)

Not to take belgiums contribution away from them ,but im sure theres other countrys that played a more active and decisive role in ww2,and FH2 should concentrate on them more.:)

That interview went horrible. Hopefully it doesn't give out negative vibes to the community about the mod. Keep it real FH devs. Don't become a DICE/Infinity Ward with those BS answers to questions.

No
He was suggesting that fans of the Battle for Belgium should get together and make their own mini mod for it, instead of waiting for them to do it. Which probably won't happen.

I think when we start I will be graduated
We only have since last schoolyear the possebility to study gamedevelpment... and before there was no study where you learned to use PS, 3Ds Max etc...

Erm I'm surprised that BF2files didn't know this but I'm more surprised at the answer. Mods can not have unlocks because EA deliberately locked that out for mod teams there's also no feasible workaround.
I've no idea why they gave the answer they did.

Since they asked the question, we wanted to make it clear that we were not interested in using this feature whether it were possible or not, even if, in the future, some modder discovers a workaround or EA patches the game to change the restriction.

I thought this possibility would be opened up again with 1.4?

No, the only thing there bringing back for mods in 1.4 is the ability to run multiple game modes in a map rotation and allowing you to run the ABR client for ranking. They wont allow mods to use unlocks because it gives them to much of an advantage.

Yawn....
Everyone thinks FH2 is the best thing ever, and it probably will be if your into WWII style fighting.
I think unlocks is the worst idea team ever developed. Just put lots of pick up kits around, never mind unlocks. Its enough to make ytou throw your monitor out a window, lol.
I like seeing progress, but I am going to avoid this section till I see "Its ready, come download it".
