What Mods Do You Want?

Now that the Call of Duty series has shifted to modern warfare/combat, what kind of mods would you like to be seen made for the game? Even though it's good the series went away from WWII for once, I think a WWII mod on the new CoD4 graphic engine would be pretty cool...and let's face it, you can never get enough WWII action. :p

in every game i have played i always wanted a zombie mod. i have lan parties at my house every couple weeks that last 3 days and what we do is we set up a BF2 server with me and my 5 other friends against 124 bots. so basically 6 humans vs 128 ai bots. its AWSOME. dropping bombs anywhere on the map means loads of kills but what we always wanted was to be able to take their guns away and have them only have knifes and no vehicles. then that would be sick. but i have never seen a good zombie mod like that. i always prayed to god someone that knows how to program would do that sort of thing but they just refuse. lol....

I'm not sure if thats possible to do by modding, but it would be a good way to mix things up.

An american football mod... "shoot" is to throw the ball in that direction... catch can by "reload" sprint could be using alternative shoot... and have some random controls to dodge/tackle/kick etc. heh... \(o_0)/

"The Godfather" mod/Gangster mod... set in the late 1930s... teams could be different hoods trying to capture and hold their own hood/take over another hood...

Alchohic mod... after every shot on target/enemy you're sight becomes more blurred and you then can't walk too straight... then after awhilst you'll start to fall/crouch randomly... till you pass out and whoever "passes" out first "wins?" heh...

Paintball...

Laser sighted guns with beams that can be seen the whole way... soo you wouldn't wanna be pointing too far else you'd give away you're position (obviosly set in dark foggy settings only)

Something set in the "near" future... kinda like add nano technology ish into it... with camoskins and such... think Metal Gear Solid 4...

The mods i would like to see are

WW2 (German front mod kicks ***)
Zombies
Paintball (There was a kick *** paintball mod for cod 1 it was fun)
Sifi (Halo mod, Gears of war mod)
Hardcore (Really bloody)

A mod thats made to play on one map. Since you can have tones of people playing on the pc version. Make a huge level with helicopters that you can fly. With a good version of domination but you have to capture the flags in a certain order. Make it urban with open places. Tones of roof tops you can get on top of. Tunnels and transport and attack helicopters that you can drive. Tanks also with tall buildings you will have to use teamwork keep your tanks from dying. Also a airborne spawn were you spawn in a parachute falling to the map. One team defends a city and the other attacks. Think of that with 100 people in one server.

Well my idea for a mod would just be some minor changes to the already existing game. Kinda like a hardcore mode. Not a realism mod. Just minor additions to the already existing Cod4. For example:

Game Types:
-Instead of having one game type per map, (ie SaD, Hostage Rescue, etc.), id like to see a combined game type. For instance, imagine you pick your team, and you have a choice. Your objectives are to destroy a radio tower, and a helicopter, but there are also 3 hostages held in an enemy building. My point is you have multiple game types in one server. It gives a little more variety to your playing, makes coordination with team members more of a must, etc. What do yall think? America Army has sort of the multiple objectives idea.

Blood:
-Just from seeing the demo and multiplayer, id like a little more blood for the more "mature adult" audience.

Guns:
-Have the ability for 2 attachments for weapons.
-For the sniper scopes, id like to see a little bit more then the normal blacked out screen with crosshairs (ie Cstrike). If youve seen Crysis videos or even the M4a1 for the Insurgency mod for Source. Thats how scopes should look. We are too far into technology to have the basic sniper scope.

Health:
-Take away the red "fog" and add something different. Maybe vision slowly blurs as you get shot. A limb shot barely blurs. A torso blurs medium. But once you get shot, your vision slowly starts to decline. As in loss of blood before you pass out. That way you know how close you are to dying, you can still fight, etc. This would have to be done perfect, as i can see vision blurring could be annoying.
-As a remedy to this problem you should have a personal "medkit". Pretty much a one chance item to improve your health. After that youre screwed. I just saw videos from BF3, i liked the morphine injector idea. That looked really cool.

Equipment:
-Improve the flashbang...it was too basic like the CS flashbang.

Maps:
-Just a small increase in size. To fit the multiple objectives idea.
-And i think its already in mulitplayer, the dynamic day/night cycle. And something for a little more depth (but probably unpractical for server speed) would be dynamic weather. Id just like to see some rain every now and then. Having the same weather every map, every game makes it seem unreal.

I like the idea of a Hot Chicks mod. Babes with automatic weapons fighting more of the same... Could be pretty popular.

Zombie mods are always fun. Who doesn't like to headshot the walking undead? I'm hoping that the 28 Months Later mod for Crysis will be a reason to (happily) buy another EA game.

I'd like to just see additional MP maps created. IMO, the strength of this game is its level of detail and accuracy. I'd go with that strength and make maps of different areas of conflict. What about: Infitada, Withdrawal from Basra, Lebanese Bunker, Kurdish Incursion, Afghan Fortress, etc.

I'm not sure about you, but whenever I have used a scoped rifle (IRL), I put my eye up to the scope.

What you want makes me very dizzy and irritates my eyes. First thing to come to mind is the Red Orchestra scopes.

Ive used many scopes, and ive also used the new ACOG attached to a m16a4. Its all about proper eye relief. Which is the distance between the scope and your eye where the picture has no black in it. Those screenshots demonstrate that better than the basic scope screenshot. I didnt say it was perfect, but a way better way to do it definitely IMO.

Not having black background:
-Can see people around you
-no "tunnel" vision

Having black background
-more "focus"
-easier to target enemies

I prefer having the black background like in all the old COD's and BF2.

A "rifles-only" mod that takes the scopes off of the sniper rifles, and makes them all bolt-action. Kind of bringing the old feel of the WWII Enfield, Nagant, and Kar98 into COD4.

There's a mod for Far Cry called, I think, Island X, or something. Maybe changed the name before release, it's been a while since my FC days.

Speaking of Far Cry, I think a jungle/beachhead/paradise style mod would look really nice on the engine.

Modern combat is hard as there hasn't been much conflict going on in recent years other than of course the gulf war.

Maybe a mod that sees terrorists on the streets of the US and Britain, where the SAS & Delta force have to take them out - suicide bombers blowing up trains etc

or possibly middle east opfor linking up with koreans to launch a nuclear bomb on the west ?

Also I know its very counterstrike (which I hate) but terrorist rescue wd be pretty cool say from African Somali Warlords

Really! When i got CoD:UO i couldn't get on any server. because they were all rigged with their own clan mods and i just like to pub and son't stick to one server.
All those mods took 8 GBs of my harddrive. It's ok if it would be only one mod and pwn everything, but it were all small clan mods who failed at modding.

Later i wanted to play SP again and i noticed my Jeeps tires were suddenly Platinum :mad: Why in god's name would modders screw of my jeep? Leave my SP alone!!! After that i got on some server and had to download some stupid mod to get in and when i disconnected to go something else, suddenly my Main Screen got turned into a Queens of the Stone Age shrine!
I mean WTF were they thinking? And i couldn't just turn it off :(

I can already imagine my Chinook turn into a pink flying donkey...

After reading the posts, and remembering some previous games that were modded (to death). It does seem sometimes that these 'mods' begin to narrow the choices of where to play. Can't have every mod......right?

So I agree, just give me new, improved maps. A wide variety and NO MODS.
Maybe a few newer weapons, but only if from IW.

There needs to be a zombie mod people!!!! With classic zombie rules. There is one zombie and everyone else is a human. You dont get to pick a weapon you have to find a weapon some where on the ground. The rounds are ten mins and when u get attacked by a zombie and he kills you. You will fall to the ground a die. But then you will spawn right where u died and be a zombie!!! The levels need to be made with crowbars laying about and chainsaws and pistols and stuff like that. A head shot will kill a zombie in one hit but if you hit im anywhere else it will do very very little damage. The humans dont have health regen but the zombies do. So if you get bit and you dont die. Then you will slowly bleed out and become a zombie. Zombies also run a little faster the humans. The levels need to be fogy and scary. There need to be a lot of blood in this mod. You should beable to use stuff to barricade doors and windows with. If there is at least one human alive when the ten mins if up then the humans win. If not then the zombies win. The last human to be alive is then the first zombie the next round. The zombies can only bash with there arms and start eating your flesh. But it takes 3 bits to finish them off. If another human kills you before u finish then he will live. There are some antidote scartered around the map that the hirt humans can use before they turn into a zombie to save them selfs. There need to be rooms that the lights flicker and sometimes go off for a min or two. And the zombies should beable to see in the dark better then humans. They need to have like a red flither over there eyes in the dark. IF only someone would make this mod.

Really! When i got CoD:UO i couldn't get on any server. because they were all rigged with their own clan mods and i just like to pub and son't stick to one server.
All those mods took 8 GBs of my harddrive. It's ok if it would be only one mod and pwn everything, but it were all small clan mods who failed at modding.

Later i wanted to play SP again and i noticed my Jeeps tires were suddenly Platinum :mad: Why in god's name would modders screw of my jeep? Leave my SP alone!!! After that i got on some server and had to download some stupid mod to get in and when i disconnected to go something else, suddenly my Main Screen got turned into a Queens of the Stone Age shrine!
I mean WTF were they thinking? And i couldn't just turn it off :(

I can already imagine my Chinook turn into a pink flying donkey...


Dude there is a thingy called options and filters. Learn how to use them. You go into options and turn auto download off. Then in the filter u say no modden severs. Then when ever you browse for a game none of them will have mods. Also you can delete them if you just go into the folders and delete the mod files.

A SWAT mod. With a great SP campaign to boot. Id like some tactical indoor close quarters combat with various gadgets and tools like breaching charges, breaching shotguns. CS gas, stinger grenades, flashbangs and overall noises that actually do some BANG BANG (weapon and explosive sounds are COD4s weakest point, by far). And all that with a sauce of realism.

I know I'm kinda late on all this, but a coop mod for the campaign... I've always enjoyed going through a coop campaign with friends and all. However, if there is anyway to create it and have it be the exact same levels and if anything make it even harder, I'd be all for it. Some coop mods just get really easy cause there is two of you... Just something I'd look forward to seeing.
