I put together this guide more because I was always curious exactly how this worked more than anything else.

It shows the different locations on many of the armored vehicles within BF2, and how much damage a single tank shot (and thus a TOW and anti-tank missile) will do. There was also a number of little tidbits about what causes damage, where not to shoot, etc., that I found along the way.

I'm looking for some feedback and am curious what people's thoughts are on it.

Here's a small taste:

Here's a link to the guide:

Let me know what you all think.

Machine Gun Damage (Or Not): No machine guns, either mounted, on armor, or on vehicles, do any damage, at any location, to any of the armor (tanks or APCs) – don’t even waste your time, unless you want to slump over the hapless machine gunner on a tank.

this is wronge i can blow some armor up with a 50 cal in 1.5 of a overheat thing i won't tell you where or what one because that is my secret and i might post it later.... maybe but that statement is wronge it is a really small spot and i found it out on accident and only with a crtain 50 cal and a certain armor i would not to try and find it for it will take years just accecpt ^ as true until i feel like tellling you how to (probably after 1.4 is realeased so they don't change it :D)

It shows ... how much damage a single tank shot (and thus a TOW and anti-tank missile) will do. T

Thats ur first mistake right there. THose shots do not all do the same damage. As anyone will tell u, TOW shots have to hit the gun barrel to do damage, other wise they actually HEAL the tank!

don't know what you are talking about but tow shoots don't heal a tank EVER and if you read the whole guide it explains the differences between the shots

I have a question, can the support class do any damage to tanks/apc's with the machine gun? I have been shooting at them with it when I can get off a clean round of ammo before I am spoted, just wondering if I am wasting my time.

Nice guide. But isn't there a sweet spot (one shot kill) also? Happend to me in a full health tank several times.

There's one problem: He found out his factors by hitting an empty vehicle and then getting in to check out the damage, and leaderless vehicles aren't damaged the same as ones being driven. Can't exactly say in only a few words what the differences are, but I'm quite sure. For example, try shooting an empty APC with tank shells sometime, then compare with what it takes for a tank to kill you, when you're driving...
