Multiplayer Public Beta Confirmed

A large announcement came today from Infinity Ward during the Microsoft Conference: There will be a multiplayer public beta for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare on the Xbox 360. The beta will be available through Xbox Live to select individuals. No announcements have been made regarding the PC gamers yet and their chance at a beta. As PC users will not be happy about this news, the COD community took second place to the 360 last time round

Infinity Ward said there are lots of exciting things coming for exclusively to PC players...but its unfair we don't get a beta

Hmm, any idea when this public beta will be released? I will definitly have to keep an eye out to download on my 360

Granted, I will be buying the game for PC though .. not 360

I want to make it perfectly clear that, yes this MP BETA that was announced at Microsoft Press Conference is exclusive for the Xbox 360, however we have some equally great things planned for the PC version of the game for the PC Community. We haven't and won't be announcing those details just yet, but before you guys get all crazy thinking we've abandoned you, we have not.

There will be good news / announcements coming for the PC versions as well in the near future. Thanks guys!

Honestly, I'd rather have a demo. Beta's can be frustrating depending on the bugs, and most people only "play" them, instead of actually looking for, and reporting issues they find.

True. But not everyone only "plays" the beta. A beta will reveal bugs and problems with the game anyway, so a beta will make the MP part better in the finished 1.0 version.
So overall a beta is more usefull than a demo, but i offcourse want both things.
We will just have to wait and see if us PC-users get screwed once again.

Well GC made a lot of talk privately and openly with people who sat down with him, we shall see if he delivers on what he said
