The official Battlefield 2 website (http://www.ea.com/official/battlefield/battlefield2/us/home.jsp) has been updated recently with some information about the delay 1.4 patch, as well as the leaked beta of the patch. Have a look:

Greetings Everyone, As many of you are now aware we have made the choice to take some extra time with the 1.4 patch before release.

During our standard final processing of the 1.4 client update we came across an issue that, although it does not compromise stability, we felt needed to be addressed in order to meet our goal of improving the overall player experience with Battlefield 2.

It has come to our attention that a beta version of the 1.4 client has leaked to the general public. It should be noted by players that this file is not final and being such could cause damage to players systems.

We want to warn players to avoid the use of any client files that are not distributed by EA/DICE or one of our trusted partners. Once we have set a new schedule for release we will communicate this information to everyone.

so that explains why there just 3 servers. 1 for AF, 1 for IO who is freaking out (you just can't play in there) so 1 is left to play. 64 players, hundreds fighting for a serverslot

3 months down the track, 2 betas, they notify the community of a delivery date which they don't normally do, and then don't meet it.

Yes I'll wait, why cause I have to, every patch has almost been a disaster.

you gotta be kidding. my computer is fully loaded with crap i should never have loaded, like that alpha release of quake or half-life that no-one should use. surprising what you can get at local computer game clubs. :rolleyes:

i dont think you realise that EA are trying to get it right this time, so there taking there time on this patch so that its right for release instead of a disaster like 1.3. Can they make it worse than it is at the moment?? CTD multiple times. Multiple server crashes in a day. Glitches in maps so people can hide in the walls. More rabits then players on some servers etc

I think they should have released a hotfix for the instability that the last patch brought in and then taken there timer with the beta and brought out a working patch with a good balanced map.

Not that I care as my graphic card died last week and im waiting for the RMA so cant play anyway :(

I for one also pissed about the constant server crashing but, Think of the positives it will be coming out soon so just wait it out. They are just putting more time into it so it will not turn on like 1.3 and the people that a say "Oh screw you EA/Dice i will never buy a product from you agian," If you do not like it do not play anymore of there games or battlefield just burn it, if there games are so badly made. 1. EA does not give a crap about us. If they did, they would do one massive apology, revert back to the base BF2 install and work on 1 stable patch. and ontop of that... keep us informed, and i don't mean with BS release dates. Don't tell me when it's gonna be available until it's done and ready to be deployed.

hi, I've been busy playing bf2. gotta love the game. it's the best!

the game runs great for me. i was bored, so i'm just giving them a hardtime. who else is going to do it:D
