I come from BF2 and BF2142, will I have an easy transition/learning curve in COD4 or should I buy/play COD2 to get ready for COD4?

It should be a rather easy transition over. CoD2 and CoD4 are going to be COMPLETELY different

You should give CoD2 a try anyways it will help prepare you for the madness that is Call of Duty and will CoD4 will be different not in the ways that matter.

The biggest changes can be summed up as:

No Vehicles
No Medics
No health meter

So the learning curve should be minimal.

I'd buy COD 2 just to play it...

For pretty much all FPSs:

1. Aim for the head
2. Fire
3. ??????
4. Profit
