I've tried maya and 3dstudio max, but I can't seem to get anything out of them. Can anyone reccomend a simple program that will allow me to input xyz coordinates for each vertex and then kinda let me connect the dots? Or maybe someone knows how to go about this in maya/3dsm? Any help appreciated.

Light Wave 3D is really nice. It's my preffered 3D for most applications. Modeler and Layout are two diffrent program's soo its makes it ALOT easier to learn modeling IMO.

Do either of those programs have a feature to input xyz for vertices? If so can you tell me how to use that feature? Thanks.
I've actually been playing with maya some more, and I'm impressed. I'm making some bad *** muscle cars to play around with in BF2.

Gmax is basically a cr@pped down version of 3ds max. It also hasnt been updated for several years I think. Just play around with the porgrams and get used to one. I use 3ds max. What you can do is crate a simple shape and convert it to an editable poly. Then got to verticie. on the top select move and on the bottem you can type in your xyz cooridnate. You can also make cuts to add verticies and faces etc. Play around with it for a while and you will get used to it.

Maya 7.0.0 works for me.
Try XSI, Its incredably userfriendly and easy to use.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I'm really getting the hang of maya:hmm: 7.0. I just create some polygons, move the vertices, and combine the peice with others. Took a little while to figure out exactly how to split an edge, but now I can make just about anything.
