I don't know. I've never actually played a game competitively.

The game isn't even out for another 2 months...what exactly are you looking to hear?

considering a game like QW had a beta ladder I figured maybe some league had announced plans for some form of ladder/tourney.
Didn't mean to offend anyone :|:

There's no offense...just that with only a public beta out for Xbox, and no demo's for any other platform yet, it's probably hard to anyone to gauge yet how this game will be used in competitions.
With all the hype behind it, however, I would expect so.

I'm sure there is. And it's for IW. ;)

IW also put out a request a month or so ago for "glitchers and jumpers" to contact them, in order to help iron out flaws in maps. That's quite possible as well.

The PC beta is in all likelihood run the same as the xbox one. Start with staff, friends, and family, etc... let in the public later as a kind of catch all safety net that nets you more early feedback. I doubt there will be a public PC beta though. I think the only reason they did it for xbox was to stress test online play and see how many players you can reasonable host in a game.
In response to the OP. It will depend on how configurable the server side options are combined with overall game play. The server files should be available pre-release, so that will be one part. The rest we really won't know until we get our hands on retail copies of the game and start playing.
There's also what I call "The CS factor." Even if the retail game doesn't catch on competitively, all it takes is one good mod. I never like BF1942, but I loved Desert Combat. Bought the game just to play the mod. So there's that angle also to consider.

if you check the IW Site, they are always in need of testers and if you live in Cali near LA....you can submit an application and can be asked to come and test something out. For details check the IW site like i said because i don't have all the info...
