For a while now, almost daily we've been bringing in guys to test on the PC version of the game, recently bringing in a handful of US Marines to get their time testing out the PC version on Minimum Specs. For you PC guys, you know this is great news, as we're gaining momentum on zeroing in on some official min specs for the final release.

I think, sorry to dissapoint everyone but to run CoD4 you'll need 64 Bit Vista, 4gb RAM, a £500 GFX card and a motherboard that breaks the bank balance

Not a chance.

Vista itself doesn't yet have a huge install base, much less the 64-bit version.

COD4 is not DX10, so there's no need for Vista.

Anything over 2GB of RAM on a non-server PC, or one that uses a 32-bit OS is mostly wasted. I'm not a techie, but we have one in our clan, and having read about this on various tech forums, most people who know what they're talking about agree on this.

Not to mention, IW have specifically stated that they're working hard to optimize the game so that people on lower-or-mid range PC's can still run it well.

This is not meant to be a knock or flame against you personally...but if people are not sure it's legit, then why post it?

There are so many different threads like this on different forums, with a bunch of incorrect specs everywhere. Some purposely by trolls, some just by misinformed people. It only causes confusion.

If the specs aren't on the official game site, then they're not legit. It's that simple.

Fair enough i dont disagree with that i just wanted to know. The game is out in under 2 months and i just wanted to know if i need to upgrade anything on my pc to run this.

I am not one for posting threads to cause confusion and last time i looked i wasn't a troll :P.

With 2 gigs of RAM and an 8500GT card, as long as you have a decent processor you'll be fine. You WILL be able to play it.

^^ Actually I got the house sized 7 bil dollar one, realy is good, but you need ear plugs. I also need the 100000000 dollar simulation suit and system which makes me float, I have sensors all over, soI can do whatever I want that my body can do, it's realy good but I can't seem to afford it on my 10,000 dollor a month salary... xD

That's only for the 360, no one knows about the PC yet.

Anyway I'm slightly on the lower side, 1 gig RAM (I may upgrade this sometime in October or November), 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and an ATI Radeon X1600.

Posted by 402 on the InfinityWard.com forums. We now have MIN and RECOMMENDED specs for PC:

A Single Player demo is hitting the PC tomorrow (October 11th) and will be mirrored on many sites. You'll be able to find a full official mirror list on Callofduty.com that has all of the demo download locations on it so it'll be easy to find. Yahoo! games will also have it available for download on the 11th.

There are also several new PC screenshots on their way out the door, three to be exact, so keep your eyes out for those as well as several PC / PS3 preview articles from the recent San Francisco press event that I've noticed popping up. I'll link a few at the bottom of this post for you guys to read up on and see what they thought.

Now for the info I know a lot of you have been waiting for for quite some time, the official Recommended Specs and Min Specs for the demo and which will be on the back of the box for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare on PC are as follows:

“Recommended Specs”

CPU: 2.4 GHz dual core or better is recommended
RAM: 1GB for XP; 2GB for Vista is recommended
Harddrive: 8GB of free hard drive space
Video card: 3.0 Shader Support recommended. Nvidia Geforce 7800 or better or ATI Radeon X1800 or better

“Required (min) Specs”

CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 2.4 GHz or AMD(R) Athlon(TM) 64 2800+ processor or any 1.8Ghz Dual Core Processor or better supported
RAM: 512MB RAM (768MB for Windows Vista)
Harddrive: 8GB of free hard drive space
Video card (generic): NVIDIA(R) Geforce(TM) 6600 or better or ATI(R) Radeon(R) 9800Pro or better

Once you guys download the demo on the PC and play be sure to stop back by and let me know what you think. This is the first time anyone besides press is getting their hands on Single Player so I'm anxious to hear your guys thoughts and reactions!
