Should Pre-Ordering earn you a day early into the demo or something that will make people more inclined to Pre-order (I know i am)
Pfff, last time I preordered something (Battlefield 2) from crappy EB games, I was supposed to get a free headset, they were out even though I was there the first day.

I don't really care. I only pre-order a game if they release and demo and I know I can run it.

Yeah really, I'd like to play the demo before buying it. Might have to acquire the game freely if they don't release that demo... so that I know if I want to buy it or not.

Most people in my clan who have pre-ordered games, have gotten them later than those of us who have just dropped into a store to pick them up. I've seen much of the same on various other gaming forums.
Not worth it, IMO, unless you live somewhere where it is hard to get your hands on a copy.
I have no strong feelings either way if people who pre-order should get a little bonus or not. One thing I have seen though, which upsets people, is that those who pre-order very early often get nothing, while those who pre-order closer to release may get a bonus. This causes a lot of people to cancel their order, then place a new one. Horribly inefficient/wasteful.

lol, never happens in the U.S... it makes much more sense to goto Gamestop, EB Games..etc when they open the day of release and buy it, normally my friends who pre-orders many months in advance get theres like 3 days later than me.

I pre-ordered BF2142 from EB Games and got it about 3 days after the game was released.
The only reason I usually want to pre-order a game is to make sure it doesn't sell out. (Not BF2142, I wanted the free flash drive). And since I have 10 EB Games/Gamestops within 20 minutes of my house, 3 Best Buys within 15 minutes, 2 Circuit Cities in 10 minutes, 3 Blockbusters (not that I would buy a game from there) in 15 minutes, and some other small game stores, I think I have enough options ;)

I don't really think it would be deserving of a reward, but it really makes no difference to me.

Is the stuff you get worth rubbing in? Not really. I Pre-ordered WiC. For that, I got 2 DVDs about The Cold War, a pre-order Demo Key, and a 10 Day Trial to give someone else. I was happy with it, but it wasn't 'OMG I CAN UNLOCK MORE MAPZZZ'
Although, I won't lie, I'm a Cold War geek, and the two DVDs were a nice addition.

I think it should be rewarded with a lower price... maybe only $5 or something.
You know, to prevent that horrid line up at release.

I pre-ordered BF2 and learned my lesson early. $10+ in shipping something I could have swung by and picked up on my way home from work.
Cookies are fine, additional map would be kewl...how about two day before it
arrives in the stores...with free shipping that would entice me to pre-order.

Pre-ordering nowadays is only usefull ifu want that game and are too lazy to remember to buy it. Plus in The Netherlands the game boxes are filled with stickers and are in the shop, i don't want someone to screw up the box of my game i bought for €60
That's why i pre-ordered both Crysis and Call of Duty 4 just moments ago from Bol.com, although i know i am getting the game a bit later than the rest.

Not trying to burn you, but I mentioned this to a guy in the 75th that got the same thing.
One of the biggest scams in Berlin is selling "pieces" of The Wall. It's not that hard to make a slab of Concrete, spray paint it and break it apart with a sledgehammer.
I'm moving to Germany in February (gg US Air Force), and have been doing my research.

Offcourse its not real Berlin Wall, its replica.
Its forbidden to sell authentic pieces of a monument.
Furthermore: if one million people buy the game, then there isn't enough Berlin Wall, so u could have known it is fake.
In Holland, there is no piece of Berlin Wall in the package of Collectors Edition (i checked it since i work in a store, which among others, sells games)

I like to pre-order when the vendor has a good downloader. I get the game pre-loaded and then when it is officially released, I can immediately play.
I've got a fat pipe and I like to use it. Downloading a few GBs is not a big deal anymore.

Same here, but in switzerland...good luck finding a good store...
What is the advantage of pre-ordering? You just get it earlier?

What is the advantage of pre-ordering? You just get it earlier? You're guaranteed to have it the moment you walk into the store, essentially.
