how do i install poe2?

run the .zip file and put in the pw when it asks.

then run the .exe file (not the .cab file)

I have no Idea of what to do
I get it and I have winrar and I see the file and all the damn thing is is a file with alot of numbers and letters. nothing about a password and I don't even know the password to it

first unzip the zipfile, then make sure the .exe and the .cab files are in the same directory, then run the .exe.

That makes no sence.
Everytime I open the damn thing all it I get is alot of weird letters and no box or windows opens up and asks me for a password
Nothing about a password or anything
Just a file with weird letters that don't make any sence.

Extract the zip to its own folder (its an option in the left click list). Add the password when prompted, dbl click the installer. The Mappack will install itself. Why that wasnt one big file, I have no idea, but its not rocket science there bro.

did you download PoE2 (>1 gigabyte file) or did you only download the torrent (20kB file or so)? If you're trying to open the torrent file when there is no program on your computer that can open it, you may be getting what you are getting.

What you got was the .torrent file. You need to use a torrent client such as utorrent to now download the 1Gb POE2 file. Then you can unzip that with the password.

Eye, if you have a program for torrents... I use BitTorrent....use that app to open the file....the DL will begin and will take a few hours most likely....then un-zip and paste the PW when asked. If I mis-understood your question i'm sorry.

Ok, I open the Bit with Winrar
Now what do I do?
All I did was download the Bit and open it with Winrar

Lol we are talking in two threads.. awesome. Ok here is what I would do,

Step 1
Download BitTorrent... search google for it....it's a whole seperate program from POE2 and is not on that website.

Step 2
Click on the link for the POE Torrent Download, the Dl will begin and will take awhile.

Step 3
Open the torrent when its finished, WIN RAR will un-zip the folder and ask for a password...copy the PW from this site... use ALL characters..after this it will install itself in the right folder.. you don't need to give directories...

Again if my advice doesnt make sense ask me questions.....I just want you to play this mod cause its badass lol

I examined this thread and see that downloading the zip file and installing does not ask for the p/w at all. It simply goes to the BF2 mods folder.

When I attempt to play the game online, it refuses the log in p/w of both the BF2 account I use and the free pass provided here.

Heavy, if you downloaded the mod off a recent mirror you don't need a password only the pre-launch torrent needs a PW. For the passworded torrent it will prompt you before you un-zip the file, so if you dont get that prompt then you don't need the PW. It doesn't have anything to do with your account login, I'm not sure why your normal Bf2 account password doesn't work but it's not related to POE2.

I settled it by entering the BF2 account password into the game when launching from the POE icon. It is a minor problem easily solved.

I got my copy off filefront with the first 150 or so to get it within 40 minutes and am happy with it. I burned them to CD and put with the stack of other BF2 cd's and patches.
