Does anyone get lag in POE? I think its a great mod but it's almost unplayable for me. My ping is around 70-100 but I get massive lag spikes where it spikes to 700 :hmm:.

How many different serves did you try bro? I get equal lag as I did in BF2 really.

I was just hoping the gameplay would change more than it did. It seems to be like BF2 vanilla on speed, an expansion pack basically. A really large and well done expansion pack, no doubt there.

The ranking system is also a troublesome thing. Ranking is the worst thing to happen to FPS online shooters IMO, and I hope it doesnt take over the attitude of the MOD scene. MODs are the last refuge of the mature FPS gamer, dont kill them with Ranks and point whores.

Everybody I've played with has said there is a lot less lag in POE.
Myself, I'm playing on an AMD 2500+ (overclocked to 3200), gig ram and ATI 9800PRO vid card. My fps went from 40-60 on BF2 to 80-98 on POE2.
What kind of fps are you guys getting?

I fail to see how you getting network lag is anything to do with the mod since the netcode is a part of the core BF2 engine.

I was on the TacticalGamer server on Saturday (great server BTW) and they were getting some horrible lag. After hearing some guys on VoIP this was due to another server being operated on the same box. Once that was shutoff, all lag was gone. Only lag encounter that Ive come across, other than that, PoE:2 plays great!!!

Last night my son set al his video settings on high (A64 3200, 6800GT) and was able to play the game without any frame lag, something he can not do with regular Bf2 (all medium settings).
How did they do that?

well i now get like 90+ fps and my ping has been around 20-50 on severs i have played which is great but for some reason nearly every time i get in a chopper and fly i get "there is a problem with your connection" and end up crashing :?

I have specs similar to you have (AMD 2500+ NOT OC, x850 pro, 1 gig ram 3200, and Im getting around 20-50 FPS in POE, so it takes a drop, though I have geometry on High, because I personally think it makes everyithing seem better, but maybe its just me....

I have everything on medium, 4x anti aliasing, lighting and shadows on low and/or off.
