I don't know why none of the developers for these new games (Crysis, COD4, FFoW, TF2) understand the importance of open betas/public MULTIPLAYER demos.

There's no way I'm going to buy any of these games without trying out multiplayer first. I'm in a clan and we play multiplayer games together online. I will probably never even play single player on any of those games, but for whatever reason they only give out single player demos.

Guess none of these companies want my money....

People who say SP is a waste of a demo are obviously new to the CoD series.

CoD (other than 3 IMO) have had outstanding singleplayer campaigns, and extremely involved missions. The AI support and intelligence grows through each game, and I can only imagine how amazing this game will be.

Yes, people want to experience the Multiplayer, but think of it this way:

Multiplayer experience is different depending on: who you play with, when, and on what server. All of these affect how a person may perceive the game.

Single player gives everybody an equal oppurtunity to actually enjoy the game without the possibility of smacktards. It also gives an example of how much CoD4 has improved from the previous CoD's.

I cannot wait for this to be released!

Well I just setup remote desktop and have it working with dyndns so hopefully I'll be able to remote desktop into my computer from school and start up the download before I get home.

Edit: I'm also going to be using logmein.com just in case remote desktop doesn't work.

i tend to agree. Infinity Ward is billing this as THE game to have in the sense of the new multi player generation. all they are hyping and pushing in every interview or press release is multi player, i haven't seen them once talk about their single player campaigns other than a few videos. I'm sure it will be kick butt, call of duty is always light years ahead of games like bf2 or 2142 in reference to AI but for a game who's multi player is being pushed so hard you would think the demo would be multi player.


no matter what this will give us a excellent idea of the game flow, map sizes, and interaction with the environment so myself i cant wait for it. i see the yahoo link now says it will go active at 9 am PST.....wohoo!!

Hindsight is always 20/20...but giving a single website an "exclusive" for such a popular download was almost doomed to failure. It should've been spread across many of them.

Hopefully the mirror and alternate sites go up soon. Especially Fileplanet...they mess up from time to time, but usually have the bandwidth to handle this stuff well.

Hope it cost them a pretty penny, and that game companies wise up to such silly ideas. For a game with this much hype, having just one site as a source is just ridiculous.

I can recommend the gameupdates.org torrent (http://www.gameupdates.org/details.php?id=1654). It gave me 500+ kb/s about 1 hour ago, and the complete download took less than 45 minutes.

I even installed the demo, but couldn't start to play it because I had to go to work - which is where I am now. :/

P.S.: Everybody, PLEASE use a torrent download, not FilePlanet or similar. Makes the download faster for all of us!
