I just got a pm asking about POE2 & bittorrent and ive seen that alot of people dont know what to do with bittorrent and have made a lot of threads about it so hopefully this will help anyone out thats having any problems.
sry to bother u but i need to know somethin quick and dont think creatin a thread would b needed. Wat is a torrent file for PoE? Thanx alot
A torrent file is a thing used to download of bittorrent.
bittorrent is a way of sending files across the net that doesnt need a server everyone that downloads the file is uploading it at the same time.
Anyway if you download the POE torrent file it comes in a winrar file first then you have to extract it.
You need to install winrar to do this.

Once winrar is installed right click on the winrar POE file you downloaded and click extract here.
Inside the file you extracted is a .torrent file to use this file you need a bittorrent client that allows you to download. I recommend YET ABC its a very simple client that allows you to download multiple torrents at once.

You don't have to use YET ABC as there are loads of different types of torrent clients you can take your pick on this page but YET ABC will do anything the more complicated programs will do.

Once you've installed your bittorrent client all you do is double click on the .torrent file that you extracted then pick were you want to save the file and bittorrent (YET ABC if you installed that one) will automatically start to download POE2. Once the file has downloaded the file you need to extract it again, right click it then click extract here then copy & paste this password.

You get a mappack.cab file and a .exe file all you need to do is double click on the .exe file to install POE2 it will install and then leave a short cut on your desktop that you just double click on anytime to play POE2. As long as you have your BF2 disc in your drive.
There's a common courtesy with bittorrent you should upload as much as you download as bittorrent is based on sort of an honour system if everyone didn't at least upload as much as you download the whole system wouldn't work. Also be warned some trackers, there what make bittorrent possible are setup up in such a way that if you don't keep a good share ratio 1 is good that means you uploaded as much as you downloaded you can get banned from that tracker and no longer be able to download from it.

Its becoming a very popular way to distribute legal content across the net even some big Hollywood studios companies are talking about using bittorrent to sell films over the net. So I'd personally definitely read that guide if i were you as its the way of the future and normally much better than downloading of an ftp server.
