Can't create control point

hey guys .... I know this sounds like a dumb question but I have been looking on the forums for an hour trying to figure this out. When I go to add controll point I get "Illegle character in sting" or somthing similar, this happens even when using defalt name provided " (#Players)_(Team)_CP_(Basename)"

Are you creating a new map or editing an existing one?

Post what you are wanting to name it...

I am Making a new map & It wont let me name it anything I tried "outpost" among other things. eg "CP1" "controlpoint_a" nothing seems to work .

you have to type it in and no spaces use an underscore for spaces_. To get it hold shift and press the button the the right of 0 (not the 0 on your number pad).

My point is it wont let me name it anything. There must be some field or paramiter I'm not filling out. :hmm:

It does work by typing a name like you did. I just tested with the word Base and Base1

I recommend downloading/reinstalling the 1.3 BF2 Editor.

I had the same problem after naming it Base_US.....after the error I named it the same exact thing "Base_US" and it worked... Just try it again.. can't have spaces etc...

Uninstalled, downlaoded, reinstalled, still wont work ...... :wall:

I believe that the name you are trying to use is the default one. Try something unique like "BIG GAY AL'S SALON" or something when it prompts you to name the point..

simply putting

(8)_(US)_CP_(LAWLERSKATES)

will not work it has to be

without the "(" ")"

I think he even tried to put test and it doesint work.. He didint even space or nothing..
