Ok I play the game for a little while and then it crashes with a iw3sp.exe error, and i cant start the game back up unless i reboot my computer. Anyone know what is up?

I just googled the iw3sp.exe and it came up with spyware and something from xfire so lets try this again i will keep you posted

welp that wasn't it, so i still need help. Hook it up homies?

Post your specs...sounds like that may be a sign your processor might be underspec.

I'm getting the same error iw3sp.exe. It either crashes before it even launches, after the intro video or after a couple mins of gameplay. I've got a AMD Athlon XP 3.0ghz with 1gig ram and Radeon x850xt pro, wich should be more then enough to run this game. Any info on what this error means or how to deal with it would be VERY helpfull :confused:

Edit: After several tries, I was able to go through most of the demo, running smooth as butter on medium specs, and then it crashed again... anyone has any idea of whats causing this?

Found this on another forum, and it seems to have solved this problem for several people:

"rename the file "mssmp3.asi" or deleting it"

I would recommend making a backup copy of the file on your desktop, just in case, then either renaming or deleting the file.

damn i deleted the .exe and uninstalled, now i have to re-download and try again - i feel like smashing my monitor with anger :mad: also my friend who has long hair and looks emo can play it b4 me im crying

FYI,

iw3sp.exe is the name of the main executable for the demo. You'd think it would be called CoD4.exe or something, but it's not.
