I am wondering what you all are talking about.The graphics look like **** to me....nothing like any of the videos.I have an 8800 gtx and everything is cranked, but seriously this game looks weak.Consolitis if you ask me, and the way the guy sprints retarded.

Okay forget about the videos....but are you seriously saying these graphics kick arse?the textures suck ***!!!Nothing i can see about them is good.this is just like that lame *** moh airborne bs.I used to love cod but they have abandonded the pc community with this port crap.

Graphics are fantastic, IMO. Except for videos of Crysis, to me this looks like the next best I've seen, and I'm only running the demo on an x1950xt.

I'd be curious to ask what games you think look better m4kill?

Bleh...i just was excited about this game and now im not...not trying to be a ****er.i am playing the crysis beta now and it is amazing...the graphics are well
represented in the numerous videos.However the videos of cod4 look nothing like this demo...but whatever, they are videos.You cant really deny that this game has a serious case of consolitis.

Why don't you try playing through again and taking your time? Shoot stuff, try out the weapons, and play on a tougher difficulty. You'll take your time them and appreciate the amazing graphics much better that way. And the controls are great too, I don't feel it has consilitus at all...

I think it is stunning how smooth everything looks with as much action is going on. Even for a nite mission I was amazed!:p

Without trying to flame you, I think you are looking at this with a bit of a biased eye (and are obviously really liking Crysis, lol ;) ).

First - almost every video out there of COD4 so far was taken from Console (Xbox360 in nearly every one of those cases). So, that will result in some visual difference.

Second - as to the quality of that visual difference, check out these two screenshots posted on a different forum...one is taken from the Console movies shown to us, one is right from the PC demo:

Now, a few things we have to keep in mind...

1) that the Console pic is a screenshot from a moving video capture, so it has essentially been recorded twice and will thus lose some quality.
2) the movie was made on a pre-Alpha version, while a demo is usually constructed sometime between mid-Alpha to Beta (ie. is more polished).

I don't think many here will say that the Console screenshot looks better than the PC. However, again we have to keep in mind the 2 points above.

I think it may be fair to say that the edges may be smoother on the Console version, and even that it may animate more smoothly as well. This may be the difference you believe that you see. However, your point seems to be that the PC version doesn't look as good as the Console movies, and I cannot agree with that. I saw the Public Beta "live" as well at the press event in Hollywood, on an HDTV - although that was MP gameplay, and not the actual scene above. We may agree to disagree, but even taking into account that it's a video, I see them as equal, or PC with a slight edge.

There is something seriously wrong with your PC set up. are you running ATI drivers? have you got a 250 Watt PSU? what CPU have you got an XP 2000+?
Because Ive got a Dual Core@2.45GHz w/ 2gig ddr400 XFX8800GTS EXTREME o/c 320meg, samsung 19" widescreen 1440x900@ 2ms audigy 4 and a couple of SATA 2 drives. and mine runs it on maximum settings w/ AA/AF on max etc etc.
And it looks just like the screen shots that where released. infact i would go and say its the best looking game out to date, and the most realistic looking game out.

I think we all have to realize that Crysis > any and all graphics wise at the moment. The first time I saw CoD4 I was not impressed with the graphics, like I was with Crysis. But, graphics aren't the reason I'm buying CoD4; I'm getting it for the gameplay.

im actually pretty shocked at how smooth it plays with all this eye candy, i cant complain one bit, it looks amazing to me but i would have to say this game screams for at least one 8800gtx and the more the merrier. i cant wait to see how it is once they get sli integrated properly.

Well I am shocked about how poor it performs :confused:
Even running in its "safe" mode (640x480) it feels jerky, and the FPS swings wildly, e.g.
Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
3489, 60000, 24, 185, 58.150
I would expect my 7900GS / Opteron 180 / 2 GB ram to do better.

Any idea what could be wrong? The demo is close to unplayable.

Lol Vreki sorry to hear it. I was downloading the demo last night and went to sleep, woke up to find it had corrupted :/

Will d/l it again tonight off a better mirror than Yahoo (idiots?)

Im still very disappointed its so short and no MP feature.

Quite honestly.. Crysis graphics are nice..but..just.. Not sure how to say it are just too much.. The game play on crysis seemed horrible to me after playing the beta for..3 hours. And this game..sure the graphics aren't so pretty, but id say its more about game play.

Feel silly for mentioning "Water is wet," but check your video drivers. My first play through the demo was a jerky artifact filled mess. Got the latest Nvidia drivers and smooth as silk since.

Good point, I have the 163.69_forceware_winxp_32bit_english_beta which I downloaded less than a month ago, but I know they already are obsolete.

They should have a subscription service on those thing, it is incredible how often they come out :rolleyes:

I played on high, and they are ultra awesome.

Its a very demanding game because of all the activity going on in a small space.

Its not that it doesn't run fine...I have everything maxed aa...af...1920x1440 and it runs really smooth....i just dont think the graphics look that great is all.

The graphics are great looking on my quad core Q6600 and 8800GTS video card all cranked to max. It was full of action and a blast to play.

Crisis graphics may look better but for me it's all about the multiplayer gameplay. will Crisis have the following MP gameplay:

* Free-for-All (deathmatch)
* Team Deathmatch
* Capture the Flag
* Search and Destroy
* Headquarters
* Sabatoge
* Oldschool
* Domination


I doubt it.

yea i got a low x1300 (yea i know its betteR) but it still looks fantastic. I mean come on if your lucky enough to have a rig with a 8800 and your being bitchy about Oh man my graphics arent good enough on 1 Billion x 1 Billion 1 Millionx AA and All High Settings WAHHHH. Jeeze, just check out the bump mapping, shadows, slick gleem on things. ;)

you talk about CoD4 & Crysis as if they ment to be the same, or your saying CoD4 doesn't as sweet as Crysis, Well of corse it does'nt, Crysis is soo much DX10, CoD4 wouldn't even come close, althou i think its the nuts my self and cant wait till it comes out.

IBM P96. Old 19 inch CRT, but good quality.
This is the first game that has done this to me. I even played the old COD singleplayer with no problems.

The graphics are just very good on this demo. I'm not a fan of CoD's rythm but I must admit IW did a wonderful job on this. I run a 8800 gts and I really don't see how the hell these graphics could be told "cranked".
