Yes it is new.

There was a mod development forum...but that really wasn't a great place to discuss mods from a player and fan point of view.

This forum was created mostly due to the anticipated popularity of POE2 but will host any discussion of any past and future mods for BF2 and popular mods will find their own subforum :)
