View Full Version : Your Craziest Demo Experience

Hey,
I was playing yesterday and had an insane thing happen to me - which proved extremely lucky on my part.
I was defending the tank (which, to me, is the coolest part of the whole level), when I looked to my left and saw an enemy rpg start standing behind the fence.
However, I was out of ammo, and as I switched to my pistol he fired.
The RPG headed directly at me, but due to the lovely (in a non-sarcastic way) physics of the rpg, it spun out just before it hit me, sorta spiraling around me.
It was so amazing, and I would never have gotten a similar, non scripted event like that in any other game. Praise Call of Duty 4!
Anybody else have any amazing experiences with the demo?

similar to yours, thank god for bots rofl... I was in the back of a building and an RPG headed dead on through the window when I turn and saw it, I would've gotten owned for the most part but a bot ran in its way past the window and BANG :)
Oh, and I got a 2.5 kill with 1 Dragonuv bullet. (Maybe was just 2), but I shot these 3 guys who were standing next to each other in pretty much almost a straight row and they all fell. I say 2.5 because the last dude looked like he was getting shot at from everywhere so I dont know if I killed him.
Granted getting 2 kills with 1 shot with the sniper when defending the tank is easy, its just so sweet because I cant remember the last game I could do that in.

Lol.. RPG's add a lot to the experience. I was running away from the tank and an rpg flew right infront of me.

OK, now that I've played the demo 4 or 5 times today... I have 2 of them:
1. In the building where it tells you to turn off NVGs; I spent 10 to 15 minutes or so just shooting anything that moved across the street. The gunfire is so intense that it's awesome, amazing adrenaline rush. I kept hearing RPG! RPG!! and Grenade!!! and Man down!!! Man down!! It felt like there was nowhere to hide.
2. This one is when you have to defend the Abrams tank; I first started killing guys to the rear of the tank, then... I see enemies starting to pour in from the western side of the tank, I pull out my 203 and use all of my nades. Guys are now pouring in from all directions, So I decide to rush west (the direction the front of the tank is facing) and enter the buildings and flank the enemy. I pull out my knife and kill around 4 or 5 guys without taking a lick of damage, pretty cool, huh? Anyways, I then went to destroy the AA gun, a well cooked grenade and maybe a flashbang will do the trick. I rush in there and plant the explosives. Now I am still being shot at by guys outside of the building, my vision starts going nuts because I am being turned into swiss cheese, then I go set the beacon and take screenshots of the Cobra gunships destroying that building.
Overall, this is a perfect, but short demo. GJ Activision!

My crazy experience:
I was playing with the all weapons cheat. I got to the part where you defend the tank. I was running in circles around the tank switching from the M203 to the M16 and then to the M249, shooting everything. RPGs were flying everywhere, grenades exploding all over the place, and insurgents screaming something were flipping around in the air after getting blown up by my 203. I've never seen anything like it.

My prolly craziest/noobest experience came on my second play. I picked up the javelin and locked on to tank from the spot. As i fire it i didn't pay attention too much and the rocket from the javelin hitted the buildin on the right side of me, killin all the marines there. "Friendly fire is not tolerated".

-If you change difficulties, it seems like the RPG's become more accurate - On medium, the RPG's will fly in weird directions after being fired compared to in veteran where they ALWAYS hit.
Another cool story:
I was sniping the guys on the bridge, and just as I popped one in the shoulder, he twisted and fired his RPG straight up into the air.
Very cool.

One time I was moving to the building with the AA gun and was hiding right behind the glass counters. I aimed through the glass and headshotted a guy (I was using the Dragunov) with an RPG on top of the AA building, and there was a clean bullet hole through 2 glass panes which you could look through and see the blood and bullet impact on the next building. I press F10 to take a screenshot, but Fraps screwed me over and it never showed up :(.

After the airstrike I found this corpse impaled on the front of the house
It just seemed so awesome / gruesome.
Shooting at it with a rifle made the holes in the wall visible like you were blowing holes in him.
I finally managed to get him down with a grenade form the 203.
