"Find 'em, Fix 'em, Flank 'em, and Finish 'em."

Just got Brothers in Arms and wonder how well this tactic works in B2

Real-life tactics generally don't translate very well to BF2.

Why? Because in BF2, suppressive fire from infantry is barely effective. Hence, tactics that focus on suppression: ie. the "Fix 'em" part, usually doesn't work.

The only time when it works is if the suppressive fire is actually lethal: ie. from a tank/APC.

Fire-and-manoeuvre tactics work best in games like AA and CoD, where a player can die from just one or two shots, and won't respawn until the next game. There is more fear factor in games like that, so suppressive fire is actually something you have to be careful of. In BF2, light machine guns suck, and you can respawn in 15 seconds, so the fear factor is almost zero.

Bunch of nooblets find an oppertunity to get a pair of points off a kill; messy.

Infantry only maps with squad members working together offers the best for tatics in POE.

In BF2, I usually let others find, fix and I try to be the finisher.

Gotta agree with you there. Tank and APC fire do a very good job of suppressing the enemy but I have seen some great players work together to make this tactic work. Granted the enemy takes this pretty lightly due to the 15 second respawn but when it's intense and both sides are going for points it IS used and works well. I just wish there was more communication beween players via comms and hell, even the commo rose. These days I hardly find anyone using comms. It really affects the outcome of each round IMHO.

Cheers

Well I have another tip if u know the maps well enough and know where the vehicles arer parked and how many vehicles there are at flags, When an enemy comes in a vehicle to a flag most of them get out and hide if u notice then that there should only be 2 cars there when there is 3 i think well sumone could be at that flag. Or if there is a tank/apc at that flag and it dissapears off your mini map then there could be a enemy at the flag.
