I just bought a new laptop today the Gateway MX6429. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7971162&type=product&productCategoryId=cat01174&id=1153997317353
It says that the shared video memory goes up to 128mb. When I got it it was set to 64mb and I can't figure out how to get it up to 128mb. Im going to get another 512mb of ram tommorow bringing the system ram to a gig. Will that bring up my video ram to 128mb or is there a setting that I have to change. Thanks

You do this from the BIOS prior to Windows loading.
Also, don't bother wasting your time. Using onboard graphics is pointless. You need a seperate mobile GPU. It won't matter even if you could make the video memory 1028mb...it still won't play anything beyond the lowest settings unless the game is VERY old.
The onboard graphics is an x300. Being onboard makes it less than an x300 card purchased seperately. Basically, it's like having an x175(if such a card existed) :( An x300 purchased seperately would still yeild only low settings.
Do get the extra ram though.

Ok thanks. I don't plan on using this for games just when I'm away. I just want minimum for bf2. I've got a desktop that's a lot better than this but when I bought it it had the same specs but with a better processor. It's
AMD Athlon 64 3400+~2.4ghz
1.5gb ram
Radeon x800XL pcie 256mb
200gb hard drive
this is just for wen im away and for usin internet and aim. Not my main gaming machine.
