The highest! Whats the point in playing with anything less? Its bad for the eyes
I really dont see how the game is as much fun with graphics anything but high. I could never play a game with graphics less than maxed out, its horrible.
all medium including sound quality

1st, you need at least another 512 of ram...2048 would be optimal, but probably out of your range for now(guess based on your currnt GPU).
2nd, you need a good graphics card. That 6600 isn't anything special, a 6600gt would barely qualify as good today.
A 7600gt should be very nice for a budget gamer in need of a gfx boost. They run about $125-150 at NewEgg, plus another $40 or so for the ram and you'll play any game with some nice settings applied.

Everything on medium, 2xAA, around 40-60 fps. With AA off I'm usually around 60-90fps and can turn some eye-candy up to high.
Saphire x800GTO 256mb ddr3 agp card.

9800 pro just isnt up to the challenge
Drunken:
I have a 9800 Pro and can run everything smoothly at medium (but with no AA/AF).
My system's fairly old, too: 3GHz P4 w/HT, 2GB budget DDR400 RAM.
Maybe upgrade to 2GB RAM? Or try turning off AA & AF?
