I'm on a....Pentium D, 3.00 ghz, with two gigs of ram. My question is, is it worth it for me to get an 8800(gts) or, will my CPU not be able to handle its power, and it'd be a waste of $$$.

Bonus Question how do I find out if i have the right amount of watts to run an 8800....

Bonus Question #2 is it cheapah to get a 360?

When I built my comp back in the spring, people on Total BF2142 told me an E6600 is minimum to not bottleneck an 8800GTS.

There should be a sticker somewhere on your comp that says the wattage of your PSU. I would recommend 600W+ for an 8800GTS.

Yes.

well if it does, it's very little. I play BioShock, BF2, CSS, COD2, COD4 demo, without an issue at maxed GFX 16XAF AxAA at a 1400X1050 resolution.

I believe i told you that, and even an E6600 is, in some cases bottlenecking the 8800GTS

For the information: i went from:

Pentium D930
2GB DDR2/533
8800GTS
430W PSU

to:

E6600
2GB DDR2/800
8800GTS
430PSU

And the difference was unbelievable huge

I had a Computer the Same specs as yours before I upgraded I had the 3.0 and 2 gigs of ram, I bought a 8800 GTX and a New power supply I think it should be atleast 500 watt, I think i had a 625 but anyhow the performace was much better and it was worth it. Im sure there was some bottle neck at the CPU but overall it was great. I sold it to a friend of mine and he loves it.

Good and luck it all up to you on what you want, I would never buy a 360, but thats me Im done with consol games..

Even more so, hardcore gamers actually turn down the visuals.
