More specifics please. Is it a zip file? Did you extract all the files? Is it the incremental or the full patch?

i juz installed the 1.3 patch still the same problem. this is startin to really frustrate me because ive been told the game is good and i juz want to play it. can anyone help?
is the game supposed to run at 60hz? coz my ATI Catalyst says it can automatically change it to that, but i think my monitor can only do 75hz. so do u think it would be my monitor?
im gonna try see if it works with 1.4 patch (bet it still wont). since ive got 1.3 on there do i only have to get the 1.3>1.4 patch. coz i dont wanna hav to get the full patch since i no it prob still aint gonna work.

This happens usually because of video cards. Go to here :
Local Disk ( C: )>Program Files>EA Games>Battlefield 2>Mods>BF2>Movies
Try moving Dice.bik EA.bik Intro.bik Legal.bik to your desktop. Make sure they are not in the folder. From there try running the game, if the problem continues move the files back into the movies folder. What this basicly does is it skips the intro videos and takes you directly to the game. This might work for you =) If the problem continues post here.

a few things you might wanna try.
-goto Ati.com and download the newest video card drivers.
-install directX 9C
-have you restarted your PC since you did the initial instal. Usually it asks todo so.
-Go into your F:\bf2\mods\bf2\Settings folder and right click on Videodefault.con
open it up using notepad
go to :
renderer.allowAllRefreshRates 0
Change the 0 to a 1
Click save and then try running the game
