I thought Iīm the only one who had this problem. I get it every 10 Minutes, but yesterday i started BF2 an alt tabbed to set priority for both processes to min and it worked for 2 hours straight. I logged out and everything was ok. Normally i get a "connection lost" and have to restart xp. Strange. Maybe you could try the same and tell me if it worked for you. Iīll try again later.

Sorry for my bad english, but Iīm from good old germany;)

Ok, tried it out and it crashed. I just refreshed the serverbrowser and waited what will happen. 4 minutes after that i could not connect, cause bf2 told me i had some network issues *grr* Could quit game only over Taskmanager and had 2 reboot. All this came with 1.4. All other games work great. Nice work EA/Dice:evil:

Used to be able to play old BF2 gonna have to forget about it because of this new connection lost problem. Had it a few times with 1.4 Beta 2 but it went away after a few days. Was averaging a few hours a day but none now if this happens to others enough and they get empty servers maybe there will be a 1.5 beta 1 patch? Somehow I can join around 11 p.m. EST until next morning but all else fails.

Are you using a home connection?

I've found out my problem through other posts on the same problem. If you have and AMD64 x2 Processor you can set the CPU Affinity by:

Start up your BF2 as normal.
After the game connects to the Account Server, Alt+Tab out to your desktop.
Then, Ctrl+Alt+Del to Task Manager.
Under your Processes tab, find your BF2.exe and right–click on it. A small menu will pop up and at the bottom is “Set Affinity”.
Click on that and a small Dialog Box will open. There you will see CPU0 and CPU1. Uncheck CPU1.
Hit OK and close your Task Manger.
Go back into the game.
[this method I had to use each time I joined a game]

or download and install the AMD Dual-Core Optimizer
http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/content_type/utilities/Setup.exe
both methods work for me and no more lost connection problems.

THIS FIXED IT FOR ME:

I donīt have a dual core, so i had to try something else. I always had to restart after ctd cause I couldnīt use my internet. So i deleted my network card. Restarted the system and installed it again. Then i set the pb sleep time to 500. No more crashes since i did all this and bf2 runs smooth again.

To set pb sleep time, just open the console in game with "^" and type pb_sleep 500. <- Found this in an other thread.

This also helps against lagg issues.

Hope it melps for u all.

Kind regards
