i got the "your connection has been lost" in the first round of jilalaBAD {mec gets RAPED} so this is a thread to gather up all the problems that dice chouldnt seem to find in 3 WEEKS!!!!!!!! :mad: yet another crap patch. i shouldnt be suprised i guess, seeins how they havent got a single patch stable yet.

1) Reload Animation & Sound Loop... Start a relaod of your weapon then fire while its reloading, queue infinite loop of loading.

2) Dolphin Diving... Easier than ever.

3) Stuck in a half prone/have crouch state lol! Managed to do this while testing dolphin diving hahahah


Summary... Well aside from speed improvements i think this was a big let down. Just a question which retards beta tested this?

Im still getting the connection lost to the servers but it usually only took about 10 mins, now it takes about an hour so all is not lost, but its not fixed!!!!! As for the new map, what was it called again i will try it?

I had the crash on load problem.

A reboot of the PC fixed that.

Searching on the game browser only came up with 1 server that was listed as 1.4 beta 2.

My game version is now 1.1.2925-757.0

This was from a patch labled BF2_Incremental_Patch_1.3_-_1.4 downloaded from filecloud.

I'm now downloading from EADownloader and will attempt to reapply the patch I get from there.

Also running a server I have seen many more of the issues that joe schmo player wouldnt know of....

EA in it's nerfing of the game has made it so unstable...Note this is why they didnt want to change anything severly this time around for they were afraid it would mess up the game code....

I played the BETA (well, BETA 1 and 2) and I don't see how they could have backtracked on stability (CTDs), so I'm guessing the download servers are taking too much traffic and some download parts are becoming corrupt.

Commander can not drop cars on roof tops, cursor turns into a red circle with a line across it when you point it over a roof top.

Prown spamming, easier than ever. On 1.3 it was much ahrder to do it, now it's super easy. Jump>Z>start shooting as soon as you're on the ground. Super easy, have seen a lot of people doing it already, flying like stupid morons.

Some peoples games come pre-packaged with 1.3. So there's no uninstalling and re-installing with the full 1.4 patch. Incremental is the only way forward for them

I've had my first solid BF2 session since 1.3 came out. Feels fine, no crashes, it feels like BF2 always shoud have been.

hmmm, strange, im about to try this 1.4 version now, but if its not problem with your net connection and its as stable as beta 2 was then im at a loss dude, try it again and see if it happens continually, also make sure you didnt get download the filecloud version( beta 1, i cant remember if it had the watermark on the server listings or not )
What yopu might also want to try is move your Battlefield 2 folder in docs and settings to your desktop to make sure its not a problem with your cache/con files

Try adjusting your refresh rate, go into your video settings and adjust to lower settings, update your video drivers.

User error most likely and doesn't have patience.

I had the same problem for awhile and found out it was my refresh rate had to be set at 85 instead of 75.

I have played 2 rounds of jalalabad and in each I had CTD.

Jalabad is not nearly as good as Karkand. Again EA missed the point. The map is too big and there is too much armour.

What was the point in waiting 1-2 months for this. EA have screwed up again. We have been given nothing.

well EA's website JUST updated... I like how a lot of these file provider sites updated and had it before EA's website even updated...

hmmm, strange, im about to try this 1.4 version now, but if its not problem with your net connection and its as stable as beta 2 was then im at a loss dude, try it again and see if it happens continually, also make sure you didnt get download the filecloud version( beta 1, i cant remember if it had the watermark on the server listings or not )
What yopu might also want to try is move your Battlefield 2 folder in docs and settings to your desktop to make sure its not a problem with your cache/con files

HOPEFULLY they fixed the "Cartillery" issue....so many NOOB Commanders dropping cars on planes, choppers, and snipers. ANNOYING as HELL!

You should ONLY get a car dropped when a squad leader ASKS for it.

Don't forget that anything you did to prevent or at least minimize the Lost connections you used to get with 1.3 may be what's making it difficult to hold a connection in 1.4. There werent these errors with 1.22 .. 1.3 has this bugs as features and 1.4 has an error that is the same bug :P

Go into 'My Documents/Battlefield 2/mods/bf2/cache' delete everything in there; adjust your video settings and make sure there are no newer drivers for your video card. Go to Microsoft Update and make sure everything is updated.

So far so good for me. Installed the full patch, found a busy Jalalabad server and it played fine.
Same here. Played on 2 different servers and had fun.

The only problem that I found was during a tank ambush, an anti-tank round went right through a US tank from the rear. The tank driver seen the round come through him and turned around and chased me down.

The bunny hoping is not the same but it is there. They jump, move right-to-left in the air, land prone and kill you with one shot....BS.

Make a backup of your BF2 directory before installing either the 1.4 Full or incremental patch. That way of you have issues, it is easily recoverable.

Please, when posting issues about the 1.4 patch, please indicate if you installed the Full or Incremental patch.

I've got a bug that is a pain in the ***, sometimes when I click Join Game after it loads, it freezes my entire computer (well sometimes my music is still playing) and I'm forced to restart.

It appears that CTD is the new "name-glitch" (i.e., the problem gets worse with every patch and never seems to go away despite contrary claims from the coders).

The fix log claims to have solved all the game’s CTD issues, but after installing 1.4, I can no longer play single-player without having a CTD as soon as I click the "start game" button. I have no clue how regular multiplayer is working right now since my internet connection is running super slow as a result of a local power-outage last night. I hope for EA/DICE’s sake that this is not just another case of the incremental patch being FUBAR in comparison to the full patch.

Did you move your "..../Documents and Settings/Battlefield 2" folder to the desktop? and launch it again( basically this removes the fact that your shaders and your conig files have become corrupted )
If that doesnt work disable DEP for BF2
and if that doesnt work, make sure you have no folder locking software installed
As per 1.3 make sure theres nothing( i..e no redirections ) in your hosts files in windows and make sure all firewalls are disabled

I just played some BF2 and I get under 15 frames per second sometimes. I get 88fps average in FEAR and other games run smooth but this brick of $hit runs like the brain of a DICE employee... slow and unusable.

Again the Bf2 patch has failed to make me happy...now after installing the 1.4patch my game wouldnt even start up so i ended up reinstalling the game...i then patch with 1.4 but now all servers give me the error message:

"This server only allows players with unmodified content to join. Revert your version of battlefield 2 to the current official version to join"

And i cannot join any servers, I knew that not all servers had upgraded to 1.4so i reverted my BF2 back to 1.3 and still is giving me the error message, im pretty sure i havent modded anything since it was a clean install and i know that many people have had this problem but with earlier patches why am i getting it now? anyone have any ideas?

Only 5 Grand? Been gaming for 30 years all the way back to 14.4 modem days and recall thousands of dollars spent.

1) started up 1.3 before the patch to make sure everything works, it did.

2) installed incremental. launch game, gets to splash screen, black resolution flicker, CTD

3) installed FULL patch. same as above

4) COMPLETELY uninstalled game. reinstalled. game starts fine

5) installed full 1.4 patch. same problem as before

The connection problems you guys are having are prob caused by the dual processor. go to processes and put bf.exe on ONE processor and your connection problems are likely to be fixed.

I had a few issues to start with, so I done a clean install with the full patch (BF>SF>1.4>EF>AF>1.4) and it was alot better. But I did get looping medipack sounds last night, which was a tad annoying, but thing could be alot worse :)

they where suppose to fix the Crash to desktop after i got the 1.4 patch i crashed to desktop while testing a hack IN SINGLE player i may add lol and it crashed *&^%*(* now i got 1.4 did it on multiplayer thanks EA u r really good UR SUPPOSE OT BE THE RICHEST GAMES COMPANY IN THE WORLD FFS

there is no need to set affinity if you install the AMD Driver from their website..

the Intel I cant answer for but I know this works on my X2 3800..

Ok, I might have been a bit quick with that...

After doing a clean install (BF>SF>1.4>EF>AF>1.4) of the full 1.4 patch I have experienced the following problems:

Server crashes
Map loading freezes on 0% or is extremely slow
Connection loss
Lag
Hits not registering (deffinately direct hits)
Join button doesn't always work
Menu sometimes goes in slow motion
'Problem With Your Connection' consistantly pops up on screen
Medic sound looping when pack picked up
Has sat on 'connecting to account server' screen, resulting in me having to shut down computer

Took another players medic kit to revive them, revived them, so they had my sniper kit, they died, then revived them again and they had switched back to their original medic kit.


Maybe the next patch will fix everything. :hmm:

i had the same punkbuster revert to unmodified content blurb instead of connecting only with special forces... my bf2 is fine but i just cant play special forces?

Ive had 2 CTD's and sometimes you cant spot emenys you try to spot and it does nothing

OK since 1.4 patch I am experiencing a weird problem. The map loads, status bar loads fully then the screen flickers , won't join the game but it doesn't CTD, the computer is just frozen , I can't even CTRL/ALT/DEL to close BF2.exe , my mouse cursur won't work either. I can only do a computer restart by the button on my case. This is an intermittent problem. I clear the cache and it seems to temorarily fix the problem but it comes back eventually.

I instaled the incremental patch and it worked fine at first. Then it started t give connections issue messages but it wouldn't crashout, just pause for a couple of seconds. So I reinstalled BF2 and loaded up the full 1.4 patch. Now it gives me the connection issues message every minute and pauses he game (like lag) for about 2 seconds and then plays fine. Any ideas people? Never had problems like this before. Net connection is fine and don't experience similar problems with anything else. Could it be a PB issue? Try to manually update but the programme wouldn't install. Jalalabad is a really good map but it's really beginning to annoy me as it keeps giving connection error messages at the most inopportune moments and making me look like a noob on the battlefield! Is happening now with all maps and ot just Jalalabad

Installed full patch, re installed bf2 and still get"There is a problem with your connection" when the game is running perfectly. Does this on all servers.

Am I the only one with the following problem?

I can load the game and play fine for hours, but if I exit the game and then try to re-open it I get an error message. I have to reboot the machine to be able to open the game again. :wtf: I am working with EA support and I have removed and reinstalled the game 5 times so far (all using the FULL 1.4 patch). They just told me to create a new admin account and install it on that account. The guys are really hopeless. Just for the record, 1.3 worked fine minus the occasional CTD.

Today getting kicked several times and error is:
You have been kicked via Punkbuster for ... Losing Key Packets.
With patch 1.4 I have'nt problems until today. Punkbuster is updated.

I never really had problems i got Incrementel and I start up Log in and then whole Computer Freeze at Main Menu Screen -.-
Guees to install the 1.4 full install not incremental time then and install BF2 which ussly takes 5 trys without crashing ^_^

Also somhow got to Rank -1 yay!

After installing the patch the game won't even load. Looks like a reinstall for me, what a waste of my time!
