I have a 7900GS and it runs the game with greater than 40 fps (higher when not in a lot of activity), inside it jumps to over 100 fps.

Along with the 7900GS I have a core 2 duo (e6300 @1.86GHz), and 2GB of RAM.

I did overclock the 7900GS to about 550/775 though.

Oh, and this is playing with about med/high settings at 1280x1024 resolution and 2x aa.

I've got AMD 3800+ 2.4 GHz
1GB RAM
7600GT
XP SP2

Runs about the same as yours, hitting 40s when there are no enemies on screen/shooting being done. This is on "normal" settings with 2xAA. So that's life. IMO, anything past 30 makes no difference than 30 FPS, only a FPS monitor like Fraps can tell the difference.

Your system is not that bad, it should be getting smoother game play than that surely.
Your 3500+ should over clock to 2.4GHz easily, but don't do it if you don't know what you are doing.
And if you upgrade to a 8800gts 320 meg like the xfx xt over clock you should more than double your performance. and only about £180.
ps have you done a virus scan, disc clean up. defrag. spyware scan?and disable some programs when playing the game like anti spyware protection anti virus, msn messenger etc. to gain a bit more free resorces.

get a new video card and procesor, 8800 GT for 250 ( it performs 3 % less than a GTX)
and a amd x2 6k for 150

First he cant upgrade to an 8 series card he's using AGP. All he can do to play this game at HIGH is to upgrade his whole system.

But you should beable to get good performence of your current setup by playing it on med.

Becasuse with my old rig which is p4 3.06 7600 256mb and 1gig ram runs the game with great fps on med setting @ 1280/1024.

That card isn't horrible, yeah lots better, but you should be able to turn shadows off & dynamic lighting & all rest on high & it run good.

im guessing do a speed test to start, do a good cleanup & defrag:nod:
if you can overlock i think i seen someone mentioned it, do it if your system can take it, i donno better check with alex or somebody savvy in that stuff before you try.

has it ever ran good? this a new card? or you just got this game????

oh use CCleaner is best IMO & do a registry scan & fix any errors, check background process. lotsa little things can help & do miracles, cleaning & defrag IMO is 2 of the best.

EDIT### dang i hate this new merge, sorry i thought this was Bf2 support, but beside the mistake a good clean , registry scan & defrag should help.

I got a x800 and ran the demo maxed (maxed for my card, didn`t let me choose high textures) @1024x768 with 40-60 fps.

Turn it up mate, 30 is terrible in just about any game, and anything below 60 is totally obvious. 90+ is a different story, that's the limit of the human eye.
