Does anybody have a EASY tutorial for UV mapping in 3DS MAX 8. I searched google came up with some, one you needed a chilliskinner program which I looked for and couldnt find all dead links. And one it didnt turn out the way he did it right when I started :-/ (diff versions)
Thanks

you won't need any additional programs - 3ds 8 has many good UV mapping tools. ;)

I am new to UV mapping too, but I am starting to get the hang of it. Do you know how to unwrap UVW? I posted something on the BFeditor forums about it and I'll copy it here.

"The way I unwrap my UVW maps is go to select by element and have that checked. Then go to a specific thing, say fuselage, then go to say, normal box mapping, or normal mapping- back/front mapping. Then take that and move it around outside the main box. If there is a smaller peice, select that peice and do the same. Once you have a bunch of easy to understand peices start moving them back into the main part. Takes longer then flatten mapping but works a lot better."
If you cant select these options, go to Select > vertex to face.
If you need a screen of where to do this stuff I can give that to you, but its pretty easy that way, just the more you do the better you will get. Im still not that great either...
