I just started playing this game and suck big time!!!

I need help!!

I've played BF1942 and BF Vietnam successfully, but I can't
seem to do worth a damn in this game.

Where do I shoot to kill an enemy soldier? Head, body? When confronting
an enemy, I seem to always get killed instead of killing.

Any other tips for a newb?

Thanks,
Paul

I usually shoot on the chest in close combat, and on the stomach in long range (of course, headshot if you can)

long range, use single shot when your gun allows it

Get prone, it shoots better.

Then, you'll just have to practice. It a big change from bf42 to bf2, prove : I have hard time to beat computers in bf42 now.

Another thing I'll recommand is search for infantry combat videos on this forum. And look how the guy is moving, aiming, and using his shooting mode.

the MOST IMPORTANT : ALWAYS KEEP AN EYE ON UR MINIMAP , IT IS YOUR BEST FRIEND. And LISTEN. when you hear like "enemy sniper spotted" open quickly ur map to check if he's nearby.

My tip for you is to use single shots or SHORT bursts even when you think you should unload a full clip into the bastard ;)

When shooting on medium distances, prone, set your gun to semi auto fire mode, zoom it and shoot single shots, but try to pull the trigger possibly quick. If your aim gets screwed, fix it and keep shooting.

Most people you'll fight will go prone as soon as they see you, so prone back. If he sees you, don't aim for the chest or legs when you think he's gonna go prone. With the lag delay, your shots will most often look like they hit, but will actually go soaring over his head. Fire at where his shins are, and you should land headshots when they prone.

Don't be afraid to play dirty. Noone on the other team will be playing with any honor, either, so chuck all your grenades so they don't go to waste, use your grenade launcher first for cheap kills, and use your rocket launcher like it's a sniper rifle. Trying to play this game giving everyone a fair shake is a sure way to be the victim.

Hit 'em from directions they're not focused on. If your team is attacking from the front of the base, then slip in around the side or back. The back door is almost always open, and if there's a real fight going on in front, then you can bet they're more focused on their sights then looking to their sides. Good way to earn your pistol and knife badge, too. Going the long ways around, and hitting people before they even know you're there.

Know where your cover and concealment is at all times, so you can hit it if someone gets the jump on you. If possible, move as close to those places as you move through a map, to cut down on the amount of time you're exposed. If you're taking a corner or going up or down stairs, treat each turn like you know a enemy is coming around. Crouch, look around without exposing too much of yourself, and be ready to draw-down. A split second of being ready before the other guy usually equates a kill.

If you kill someone:Rehide and wait. Usually a Medic'll come along and revive them. Get a second kill off the guy you just killed, and get the medic, too. Grenade launcher is perfect for getting 3 kill credits for the price of 1.

some infantry tips:

UAV --probably the best thing to kill someone ---make a roll ..if someone goes to you --jus strafe and tap prone ..the guy will se you rolling but youll aim normaly --give him headshot --youll need to practice

i give headshots in close range --in close range is better to have a powerfull gun(AK-101)(G3)(M4)(dao-12)(Jackhammer)

long range --change into single shot and prone--aim in chest

if you need some specified info --tell me and ill post

Why don't admin create a "I need help" section then?

Actually- no one needs the "I Need Help" section, because all the help you could possibly get is all here. The miracle of 'search' makes it possible to find what you look for.

Trust me, the tips and advice you get here is pretty damn comprehensive and all-encompassing. They were all formed through experience.

Every Noob should at least read 80% of the content they have on there. A couple of things are a little outdated, but to get to where you can see "The bigger picture" this site will help a lot.
