GameStar.de (http://www.gamestar.de) has posted up a new preview today of Frontlines: Fuel of War, unfortunately though, it's all in German. Here's a brief summary I've made of what was posted as figured by translated text:

1st Paragraph: A brief scenario and setup for a battle experience you would likely face in Frontlines: Fuel of War.

2nd Paragraph: A background on Kaos Studios, the developers of Frontlines.

3rd Paragraph: The background story of Frontlines, "Approximately 20 years in the future between the east and west coming to the war around the last still remaining oil on earth". There are eight missions including desert, city ruins, and mountain regions. The player can select from five weapon types and four specializations, and more to come further in the campaign.

4th Paragraph: More description of the single player campaign and objectives you'll face including destroying hostile air defense positions and conquering weapon arsenals.

5th Paragraph: The health system in Frontlines is very similar to Call of Duty 2 and Rainbow Six: Vegas, in that you are healed after periods of not being hit again. If you die you will start at an inspection point you already passed. If you are running dry on ammo, you can of course pick up enemy weapons off the ground.

6th Paragraph: Description of flying a reconnaissance drone which features a camera that you can switch between yourself and the drone's perspective. You can use the drone to scout the map and mark enemy locations or as a kamikaze weapon to take out soldiers.

The good news however is that they have also published four new screenshots from the game. Check those out below and if you do want to see the new preview, click here (http://www.gamestar.de/magazin/preview/action/frontlines_fuel_of_war/1467754/frontlines_fuel_of_war.html).

I wonder what that mini tank thing in the first screenshot is.
It seems like a turret so curious if it's a NPC like in BF2142 or Player Controlled.

Yes, the game fully supports widescreen.

the "mini-tank" is a deployable, remoted controlled (player controllable), Drone with a minigun.

This so looks Battlefield, and then one step further. Everything that we hoped for in previous games that were dropped, look ready to come into full swing here. Also, I appreciate the Widescreen support. At least SOME companies around here recognize this is the 21st century :).

How can you NOT KNOW who delisef is. Did you ever play DC for 1942? His team, Trauma studios created that!

I am beyond stoked about this game. The pics look simply amazing. One question though, can you give us an idea of what kind of hardware requirements Frontlines will have? I'm looking to upgrade especially for this game and I would like to have an idea of what I need to be shopping for.

So as far as system specs, we will support a wide range of cards from pixel shader 2.0 DX 9 to pixel shader 3.x. We will also support a wide range of options to tune your performance, such as things as motion blur, depth of field, detail levels of garbage on the ground, etc.. So the pretty bloom and stuff you see in the screenshots is not something we added in photoshop, its part of the engine.

The screenshots where taked on a Nvidia 7800 card. The 8800 card for example runs the game at well over 60 fps. We will be releasing in game video soon to show that off.

thats good to hear so most people will most likely not need a major system overhaul just minor ones hopefully.

I'm absolutely stunned... By the fact that this game is what I ever wanted, how it looks, who develops it and because the developers listen and respond to the community !!

This is my first post (except that one in "Welcome" forums), so please forgive me any enthusiastic SENTENCES WRITTEN IN CAPITALS :P

I know, I was thinking the same think when i read that. I have been an avid player of BF1942, DC, and now BF2 for alot of years now and after seeing what crap EA has put us through with game support I am amazed that KAOS studios is so involved with the community.

Thanks Frank and all the KAOS crew who are creating this game for us. I look forward to the release.

I second that!
Pretty sick of how little EA listens/reacts to what the community wants.
If the way DC was run is any indication this won't be a problem with Kaos Studios. WooT!
So as far as system specs....
Don't know if this has been touch on yet but what will be the deal with Vista/XP?
Is this game designed more for one than the other?
Will both be supported?
TY
