hi.. sorry to bother but i'm bout to trash this game.. i have had it for over a year and never got to play in a stat server.. i keep getting network connection errors.. i have added all the ports to the windows service pack2 (udp and tcp) except the 1500-1499 1 and it won't let me put the - .. i have tried turning off the firewall and my antivirus alltogether and still same error.. i'm really sick of this and belive EA games should make it more user friendly instead of having to be a tech to play the game.. can someone help me please.. and thnx in advance for ne tips or suggestions

Do you have a router? You may need to open ports in that too.

Wow, I'd say a long time and no ranked server, well first thing is the game should automatically see ranked server's it has nothing to do with the router/or windows, except that you have the lastest service packs.

There is three questions come to mind:

1: Is Battlefield a valid game, or is it the demo(demo's can't play ranked games)

2: Is windows a valid purchase so you are able to get the service packs..

3: Do you have the lastest patches..

Other than that, hope you like playing in a unranked server..and I say that not being a smart ***, I feel your pain especially if you bought it..a waste of $60.00

I hope you resolve this issue.

You got into a few non-rank servers online? If yes, then it is not connection, but maybe your CD-key or something totally different. Can you see any servers online?

If no, then even though you don't have a router, you must have some kind of modem. Some modems actaully act as routers (DHCP, port forwading..ect).

See if you can get into the modem and check both the security settings and the port forwarding. (You should not need to forward any ports unless you are running a server, but it won't hurt to check)

To find the IP of the modem, just type "cmd" in Run on the Start Menu and type the following:

ipconfig -all

If your default gateway is in the 192.168.x.x (usually 192.168.1.1) range then that's the IP of your modem. Open up a browser and type in that number in it. It may ask for a login and password - type "admin" for both or just for the password. That should give you access to it.

Let us know what you find out. Playing online is the only way to play!

No i dont think so, the user name and pass you log on with BF2 is your gamespy account. Have you tried different usernames? Have you emailed EA tech support? Who is your ISP? If you have no router and turned off firewall there is no reason at all for connection errors. Have you reinstalled BF2 and ran 1.4(full) patch? I cant believe you have had the game 1 year and not played a ranked server, thats just mad lol

When was the last time you reformatted your computer. Have you done any spyware/adaware scans and virus scans?
