Dedicated Server Problem

Hey, I'm trying to run a dedicated server for me and my friends, and the problem is that when I am behind my router, the IP used for the server is the network IP, and when I change the IP to be used for my server to my internet IP, I get an error.

On the other hand, If I am not behind my router and change the server to use my internet IP, my friends CAN connect to the server...but I dont want to have my router unhooked.

Anyone know how to make it so my friends can connect to my dedicated server while staying behind my router?

You have to forward the game server ports to the ip of the game server, your gateway router is blocking them.
