IGN (http://www.ign.com/) has posted up yet another new hands-on preview today for Frontlines: Fuel of War, this time being for the PS3 version. Included in the new preview is some more amazing screenshots. Take a look:
Even though the stages are broken into three kinds of levels, the size of these maps is simply jawdropping. The smallest map may be about six city blocks in size, but the largest maps can be up to 4 square miles. That's a lot of room for players to fight over, and up to 64 people will be able to wage war on the PC, while 360 and PS3 players will be kept to 32. While there's no definitive statements on whether all three systems will be able to play against each other online, or even whether the 360 and PS3 will be able to host more than 32 players in a match, Frontlines will feature dedicated server support for consoles and PCs as well as THQ run servers to host massive online battles.
Like many multiplayer games, players will have the option to pick between six different classes for their soldiers in multiplayer: Assault, Heavy Assault, Sniper, Anti-Vehicle, Special Operations and Close Combat. Each one of these character classes has at least 15 different weapon loadouts that they can use to bring into battle. Depending on your class, your initial load out will provide you with a long ranged weapon, like a rocket launcher; a short ranged weapon, like a pistol; and either a close ranged weapon or projectile, like grenades or a knife. Now, there's a little bit of a twist when it comes to melee and close ranged combat: the game actually evaluates where the camera is aimed and determines just how you'll attack. If you're pointing up, you'll punch an opponent; if you're pointing down, you'll kick them. Read more... (http://ps3.ign.com/articles/769/769154p1.html)
