Forgotten Hope 2 Mod Update

There is a new update posted today over at the Forgotten Hope 2 (http://forgottenhope.bf1942files.com/main.php?module=&lang=english&flash=yes&mod=) mod website. They are back with some more media. Take a look:

No plane symbolized this emphasis better than the Sturzkampfflugzeug Junkers Ju 87, the "flying artillery" of the Wehrmacht. Although suffering from several defects, including a low top speed that made it vulnerable to enemy fighters, the Ju 87 (popularly known today as the "Stuka") excelled at pinpoint bombing of battlefield targets. During the early war period, when the Luftwaffe's fighters still dominated the skies, the Ju 87 was a devastatingly effective weapon. Later on, as control of the air slipped away, the JU 87's shortcomings became more obvious. Today we would like to present the first in-game screenshots of the Ju 87B2 dive-bomber bomber modeled by K96 and skinned by K96 and AceS.

Another vital supporting asset has always been transportation for supplies and reinforcements. The most common truck used by British forces was the Bedford 3 ton lorry. More than 70,000 3-ton Bedfords were produced between 1939 and 1945, ana variety of configurations, and were used for all conceivable transport roles, including the movement of troops, horses, machine guns, and supplies. The Bedford was originally modeled by Mange updated and tweaked for BF2 by Lobo, skinned by AaronAsh and Jimbob and Lobo normal mapped by< Lobo and given a brand-new set of tires by Rad.

you gonna take them contrails off? I wasn't around in WW2 but I've never seen contrails in any footage.

maybe move the contrails to the exhaust and change the color to somethign lighter to show some exhaust.

Looks really well. But I wounder how map clipping will effect FH2. One of the many things that really got under my skin was loosing control at the alt of 700. I always thought it horrible and a down grade from what we all came used too in BF42.

Great stuff, i er.....can't wait to run over some suckers with that lorry. Would be nice to see some internal cockpit views though........internal cockpit views of the lorry, that is.

I have seen alot of footage and i have definitely seen contrails. Don't ask me about the science behind it but whenever an aircraft makes a hard turn (at speed) it makes those contrails - normally in combat it makes short wisps with jerking around. I reckon any good WW2 flight sim should have them ;) IL2 does i believe... feel free to jump in at anytime gentlemen.

From what i can remember it has something to do with the height the plane is flying at because the air temperture needs to be bewow a certain point. I doubt you would see them on a Stuka at the height the pic is taken at though. But I'm not sure.

Its not only the height causing that. the heigh actually is not important. Its more or less the pressure of the wings causing that at a certain temperature. You can also see formula 1 cars creating contrails with its spoiler. :)

contrails r made by the differences in moisture / heat from the wingtip.
When the plane makes a bank, usually sharp, the heat rapidly condenses into visible water vapor that appears to stream from the wings.
